This weekend I attended a celebration of 300 years this year, since the birth of John Wesley.
What a joy it was to sing such words.
And can it be that I should gain an interest in the Saviours blood......
O for a thousand tongues to sing my great REdeemers praise.......
Lo he comes with clouds decending.......once for favoured sinners slain.....
Come sinners to the gospel feast, Let every soul be Jesus guest, You need not one be left behind, For God has bidden all mankind.
I am sure that John Wesley would rank alongside William Shakespear in the matter of poetic grasp of the English language.
