Sin, again.***

Following a word from ''the Front''
Psalm 51. After David had sinned.
Some of the main points.==>
Godly repentance = restoration of that deep down joy in the lord.
David‘s total responsibility for his sins.
God knew David’s heart.
‘’Halley’s’’ comments on 2 Sam. 11-12.
‘’This was the blackest spot in the life of David; adultery, & virtual murder to cover the adultery.
His remorse made him a broken man. God forgave him; but pronounced the fearful sentence. ’’The sword shall never depart from thy house’’ 12:10, & it never did. David reaped exactly what he had sown, & more of it a long & hard & bitter harvest. Daughter raped, by a son. Who was murdered by his brother who rebelled against his father David. David’s wives were violated in public. Etc Etc.
Thus David’s glorious reign was clouded, in his later years with unceasing troubles. What a lesson for those who think they can sin & sin & sin & can get away with it.
Yet this was ‘’a man after God’s own heart’’ David’s reaction to his own sin showed him to be just that. Some of the Psalms were born of this bitter experience’’
The wages of sin!!!.

Dear Brother,

You have touched a very important topic indeed, especially related to men.

As far as David is concerned, he is a man after God's own heart. No one would have probably expected that a man like David (a man after God's own heart), would do such a thing to Bathsheba.

What would have perhaps happened is, David might have let his emotions burst out, he couldn't control the temptation when he seen her and he eventually sinned (and to cover up his adultery, a virtual murder). But, after he sinned he realized how badly he fell, and he repented.

What I feel is, sometimes we under-estimate certain people. We may think he/she is innocent, but we won't know until his/her emotions finally burst out, and they may ultimately do something which we might least expect, when we see it, we'll be shocked.

So, what I say is, no one knows the thoughts, or the temptations of another person. But, when they burst out, it will be shocking to our friends and our family.

But what is important is, no matter how badly we fall, when we truly repent and ask God forgiveness, God is faithful to forgive, even though it may effect our relationships, with our family or friends. The best part is that God is capable of forgiving, when we confess our sin to Him.

God bless you.
