I don't receive any signs , so to speak, unless I am in earnest prayer.
Day by day, I get up, do the things of the day, and go to bed.
But, When I have a care, and have no answers, then I seek God, and when I do, he always answers.
We need to know we have spoken to him before we can hear an answer.
I fail a lot in this, because I have grown up to do with what is at hand, and be efficient ,so I need my feet knocked out from under sometimes so I pay attention.
God wants our relationship, and I know I need his, so pray he will deal with me on this.
One of my last prayer's that God answered was a curiosity of what God thought of me.
It was a passing wonder, and didn't even think he would answer! But
a few days later, I went outside to take a walk around our pond. The flowers were lovely, and it was warm so I was barefoot.
Suddenly a pain shot through my foot, I had stepped on something hard, so I wiped my feet on the Corsican mint that grew along the path, and went back in the house.
My husband was on my computer so I sat in the chair just behind him and put my feet up on the back of his chair to watch.
"Hmmmm ,He said, You've been outside!"
"Yes, I answered, How did you know?"
"I can smell the Corsican mint on your feet!"
God then spoke to my heart, these words, as I pondered this.....
Corsican mint, it grows so low to the ground, it couldn't get any lower! But it covers the ground with a soft green, softens the harsh edges of the rocks, and covers the hard soil with a soft green. when stepped on, and abused it sends up a soft fragrance that fills the air, with a sweet smelling aroma.
That's what I want your life to be, a sweet smelling aroma.
I can remember my heart swelled, and tears came quietly to my eyes, for I knew it was God who had spoken to me, and I knew it was his heart toward me in answer to my simple thoughts.
I have never forgotten it, and desire to never let him down, although sometimes I do, but he remains the same, ever loving, ever true, and I know that I know, how he sees my life to be..
A sweet smelling aroma.
That is my prayer, and know he forgives, when I fail.
