Should We Seek to Please People?

10For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.”
Dear Brothers & Sister,
Brother @Bill alluded to this very line of Scripture.
Do, we not learn as babies to walk, then run? None of us starts out running. Oh, I dare say that Paul appears to be an exception in preaching, but I do believe that our Lord slowed him down a bit, with 3 years of learning, similar to what the other Apostles received during His earthly ministry! We are just given a greater play by play of their failings in comprehension.

It takes time, which for some requires great patience, and guidance that they don't trip and fall before they start running. While for others who are quick learners, they are ready to preach, teach, evangelize at the drop of a hat. There is nothing wrong with either one.

I see all of you all are dancing around the fact that we all sense the time drawing closer towards His return, and the need to redouble our efforts to be about His business! It's like the pages of history/time is flying by us even as we continue to do His work that He has each called us to do. @NBTT will start them off, while @Sue J Love will move them along to greater levels of walking in their faith, while even Brother @Bill will let them know they haven't arrived yet even then, and have barely seen the edge of the iceberg! Not the best analogy, but you get my point. :)

We are each in partnership, for aren't we the Body of Christ? Are we all legs, where the left wants to walk, while the right is trying to run or maybe a three-legged race? Just like scripture in reading it, and applying it to our lives, it is done in context and so is what we share. It's not going to be all inclusive when we share it, because we are in certain ways interpretating Scripture so it can be applied to an ever-changing world, that doesn't want to hear us in the first place, regardless of the level the Gospel is presented in!

None of you are wrong, until you are striking against each other (The Adversary seeks this from us). This thread is but one part of the whole "iceberg" that even us, yes even us who have been around awhile, still have much to learn and grow in! It is not the be all end all, of what we are to share, so don't think to make it that way, because you won't succeed in that endeavor. Even at 1%!

Still, it has its part to share with others, who are able to see, and if able to understand what it is being said. For those who are just starting to find their footing, it will take extra patience and guidance, great love before they are ready. Along the way, they can turn to the writings and encouragement of fellow believers to help them grow through the Holy Spirit, whom we in the body of Christ have been blessed to be sealed by and could never do without if we are to be indwelled by for our work to prosper.

From this thread, the takeaway we should share with others, no matter where they are in their journey, is to avoid dawdling or wasting time in pointless back-and-forth that leads nowhere and offers no real insight into the challenges we face. And face them we must! Should I sing Onward Christian Soldiers? I hope not, because my singing is awful and out of key! lol

So, don't be diverted into thinking this is about a right way or a wrong way, of doing what needs to be done, but understand that it must be God's way for each of us. Just as our testimonies are different how we were drawn to Him, so is the Gospel words we use that are the vehicle by which the Holy Spirit uses to bring those that are His. And I'm not talking about a different Gospel for any of you who think that is what I meant! lol It is not.

I'm also not saying that we don't disagree, because in our own Scripture readings we know that they did. Need I mention Paul & Barnabas, concerning Mark? We don't hear much about Barnabas after this exchange, but we certainly hear from Mark! Would Paul have believed any of us if we had told him this concerning Mark at that time of disagreement? Doubt it! :)

We are still Brothers & Sisters in Christ Jesus, part of the Body of Christ, with Jesus, yes Jesus at the Head of how and why we keep moving forward. To His Glory & Praise!!!

Peace and Love in Christ Jesus.

Thanks Nick.
MT 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Paul is the only one whose three years were with Jesus post resurrection. We live in the in the same age as Paul's education. I was called "not Biblical" by the one equal to God here for quoting Paul using a certain method on certain people. The Holy Spirit put on my heart over night not to worry. He is capable of guiding all to find exactly what they personally need to hear when they need to hear it. He doesn't need any help from little old me so I'm moving on as suggested.

May Jesus fill us with his love and wisdom

I meant no disrespect to Sue, I just wanted to point out that there is more purpose to the Holy Spirit then just for those who are believers along with a few other things.

I thought I tried to make that clear in what I wrote and how I wrote it.

But if I have offended anyone I am sorry for doing so it wasn't the focus.

Thank you for your words my friend, sincerely Bill

May Jesus fill us with his love

Ahhh, you beat me, LOL.

I did not mean to offend you if you took it that way. I was just trying to point something out about the movement of the Holy Spirit and a few other things.

I think I've told you a few times that I really do like reading your material. And the fact that I do know that you have the Holy Spirit In You.

We tend to forget a little detail about having the holy spirit in US, the fact that we are co-creators with God.

And yes we are co-creators. God doesn't do things by himself all the time.

The co-creation is in a lot of different venues it's something that the angels nor the darkness have the ability to do. And it's one of the things that the darkness hates about us, that God shares with us.

Primarily we co-create with children, we do it in many different levels literature, poetry, artwork, singing, music, inventions, the study of things, you name it.

Even in the writing of the scripture itself. Jesus was the author, certainly. But the people that wrote it had to still write it. There were a few things as you know that are strictly of God's making. The Ten Commandments, the finger/ hand writing on the wall, Jesus scribbling in the sand.

Even what you write is a co-creation. The Holy Spirit inspires you to write and you write it down. If you didn't write it down it wouldn't be written.

I guess it's just something to think about
