Short Term Memory?

This came up in another thread, but it does give us something to think about.

Eccl 1:11; There is no remembrance of earlier things; And also of the later things which will occur, There will be for them no remembrance Among those who will come later still.

Isa 65:17; "For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind.

Psa 34:16; The face of the LORD is against evildoers, To cut off the memory of them from the earth.

I have heard a few sermons in my life about these verses, and others that are similar. The thought here is, there will be some things that will be forgotten in the next life.
Some people say that God wouldn't make us forget, because that's evil.

But could it be, one of the most merciful things God does, is let us forget?

I have done terrible things in my past; I have hurt people really bad. Also, people have done terrible things to me, I have been hurt as we all have at some point in our lives.
I wish I could forget these things. I have reconciled and told people I was sorry for what I did, when I could. Also, some people have told me they are sorry for what they did.
But others have never have. It's not like I dwell on these things every day, they just cross my mind a few times a year in some cases.

But I wish I could forget. I wish I could forget the things others have done to me. I have forgiven them, but I still remember.
...and OH, how I wish I could forget the things I have dome to some people. I wish I could forget this even more.

I am sure, that there are some things I have forgotten over the years. There are some things that make me sad, I had a sister about 2 years younger than me.
I tried to share Jesus with her a number of times. But "Jesus is just make believe and nonsense". "There is no God, there is no heaven or hell".
Not long after she said these words she passed away. I think about her from time to time. I wonder where she will spend eternity, but I'm pretty sure I know the answer.
I have a cousin that died in a motorcycle accident just last month. He was a nice likeable guy. We were close for many years. But I'm pretty sure he wasn't saved.

Now maybe, when we all get to the next life, we will remember these things. But maybe, just maybe... God will let us forget some of them.

Rev 21:3; And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,
Rev 21:4; and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."
Rev 21:5; And He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." And He *said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true."

The Bible says there will be no sorrow for those who dwell with God in the next life. For those people who find out that some of their loved ones didn't make it...
Maybe the reason there is no sorrow for them, is because we will have forgotten them?

Isa 43:18 "Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past.
Isa 43:19 "Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.

Php 3:13; Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,

But, my friend, we should be forgetting those bad things now...as in forgetting the past and pressing on to the high calling.....(paraphrased)

One nde account i read, the person looked back at their body as if it was nothing but a body filled with memories which meant nothing to them.

I suppose the person could be depressed but what they experienced comes close to what it is like for me all the time.
