How do we properly improve our self-esteem?

When I went through recovery in 96' my self-esteem elevated to a level I never knew before. But it wasn't until I began actually living for the Lord that my self-esteem reached a satisfactory level.

In 2 Corinthians 6:8-10 Paul describes my walk with the Lord, as well as his own. He writes, "We serve God whether people honor us or despise us, whether they slander us or praise us. We are honest, but they call us impostors. We are well known, but they treat us as unknown. We live close to death, but here we are, still alive. We have been beaten within an inch of our lives. Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything."

Paul received his self-esteem from his relationship with God, not others. If we live to please God, we will find that as we build healthy relationships with others we will have joy, Amen?

Instead of going by our feelings or what others may think or say about us we need to agree with what God says about us in His Word. So remeber no matter how you may feel at the time, what ever God says about you is true because He cannot lie. If we read the epistles we will find out who we are in Him.

Col. 2:9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
