The godly will see these things and be glad, while the wicked are struck silent. Those who are wise will take all this to heart; they will see in our history the faithful love of the LORD. Psalm 107:42-43

What is filling your mind today? What have you pondered so far?

You’re probably surrounded by entertainment, news reports, and commercials that can easily fill your thoughts. Your work and family surely occupy important spots in your mind as well. But how often do you pause to remember the ways that God has been at work in the past week, month, or even year? It’s possible that His love may appear far off simply because you need to spend a little time today considering His faithful love.

Whether you’re entertaining doubts or uncertain about the future, your faith can be bolstered by taking a moment to notice the ways that God has offered comfort, reassurance, guidance, or the peace of His presence. Just as God’s people are expected to learn from their mistakes, there’s also great benefit in remembering His provision.

As you consider your next steps, whether at home, work, or in your church community, you can take comfort in remembering God’s past actions on your behalf. Sometimes you don’t need Him to perform another miracle. You just need to notice what He has already done for you.

Greetings,

thank you for sharing this Nick.

We often forget.... (have to smile at that) yes, we often forget that the way to go forward is to look back, or perhaps a better way to put it,
in all circumstances go forward by holding the past before you.

Sounds strange but it is not and your devotional today brings this out a bit. By remembering (i.e. not forgetting!) all that the LORD has done for you, you are strengthened and the remembrance 'refreshes faith'. We have no idea about the next moment and even less, if that is possible, about tomorrow. We may have plans or even take it for granted (an interesting expression) that all will go as 'normal' but those who know the Lord as their Lord (and Saviour) know without any doubt that tomorrow and all the future moments are in His hand, not ours. By looking back, or better still, putting the past in front of us, we can see without doubt that it is He Who has held our hand thus far and also that it is the LORD Who can be trusted with whatever will be.

It is the way to go through all trials and all pain, through all unknowns and all temptation, we have the victory in Christ Jesus and as Christians, we never go backwards remembering what He has done for us on Calvary's Tree.

Bless you ....><>
