So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:10 ESV
It’s easier at harvest time to see what’s been planted than it is a week after the seeds went in the ground.
In Galatians 6:7-9, Paul says, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
Are you growing the fruit of the Spirit or sowing seeds of corruption? Harvest time will tell, but by then it will be too late. What can you do right now?
Take a deep breath. Let it out. Take another. Good! You’re alive. You have the opportunity to sow some good seeds.
Look around. Does someone from your church need a hand with a project? Could your kids use some individual attention? Did your wife ask you to do something a while back?
Ask the Spirit to reveal good deeds for others that would give God glory, then do those things until harvest time comes.
Prayer: Lord, may my actions for others give You glory.
