Same Holy Spirit teaches all?

I am a cessationist.
Those signs ended with Apostles.
I am also a cessationist .

God is no longer bring any new revelations in any manner of prophecy (the tongue of God ).

The signs had nothing to do with the apostles "sent messengers " God is still sending messengers with the gospel as it is written.(prophecy. )

Its an evil generation (natural unconverted mankind) that looks to signs .Christian look to prophecy. . . the tongue or interpretation of God .

There is no good report of seeking after a a sign before one commits faith .

King Saul wa guilty of that he needed a image as a sign when many gods came up .

God had cut him off from any new revelations. Same place we are today .We have the perfect no new revelations are needed.

1 Samuel 28:14 13 And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods (legion) ascending out of the earth. And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.

Saul worshiped the dust.

Matthew 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:I

Matthew 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the signof the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.

Mark 8:11 And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him.

Mark 8:12 And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.

Luke 11:29 And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the signof Jonas the prophet.

1 Corinthians 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

Christians seek after prophecy the tongue of God . . . as it is written .

No need to wonder as a sign seeker.

Well boo-hoo for you.
They are still happening today.

I am so sorry you are alone and depressed. I pray for you and ask ths Father to give you pease. And perhaps send a friend to you so will feel wanted as well as needed. We all have pressures in life. I pray God will ease your burden and give you an enjoyable life.

During early church, yes Stephen and others did miricles. But that was in starting the church. No need now.
We dont have to argue the point,as its niether here nor there.

God performs miracles .

They do not get accredited to the dying hands as a will of mankind.

God whose name is Jealous does not share his glory with dying mankind .All die not receiving the promised new incorruptible body. (Hebrew 11:39)

The church (bride of Christ) began in Genesis with Abel the first listed apostle as a martyr.

The church was reformed and restored during the first century reformation .

The Holy Ghost this signifying "using the temporal things seen" in a figure (same word as parable) that must be mixed with the unseen things of God .

A time period when God gave over the faithless Jews to have a earthly king represent them . They did not believe in God not seen who reveals himself by his living word.

The beginning of the need of the first century reform. (1 Samuel 8:) Which God gave them over to do that which they should not of (desired a pagan government )The abomination of desolation making the word of God desolate of the meaning .(wile of the evil one)

1 Samuel 8: 7 And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

Imposed on them until the time of reformation

Hebrew 9:8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

When the church age began, not all of israel believed in Jesus(still dont) and the rest of the world never heard of him. Never knew he existed. Now the apostles were given the task of spreading the gospel to a world that had no idea what they were talking about.
The apostles dint have a kjv to carry under their arm into these places.
Christ gave them signs, hence sign apostles. These signs followed them to prove to the world they were telling the truth.
Today we have the New Testament and doctrine. No more need for signs. Even the apostles slowed down on using,..... Paul told timothy to take wine for ailment. Paul didnt heal him. Paul couldnt remove the thorn from his own flesh. Paul spoke of a dear friend sick unto death. He didnt heal him.

James said if any sick among you call for the elders to pray and annoint with oil.
In that day olive oil was used as an annointing for medicinal purposes.
So all James is saying,"If you're sick, pray about it and go to the doctor".

Well (deleted) for you.
They are still happening today.

Let me ask you then, since the dying out of apostles have you known of someone raising a person from the dead? Not through medical devices in hospitals, but someoms walking up and laying on hands,or just speaking,RISE?
Other than the fakes on tv,have you witnessed someone actually making a leg grow. That you knew for sure was halt or lame?

Xrays and medical diagnosis can be wrong,so other healings can be questionable.
I do believe God heals. If it is his will. No doubt about that. But as far as the sign gifts, they are gone.
If not,do you have them? I dont have them. Do you know of a person who does?
Neither do I.
And please dont feel you have to delete name calling on my account.

I see that a little differently.

The bride of Christ the church began in Genesis with Abel .

Abel the first apostle sent with prophecy the word of God and first listed martyr.. The first of the second born ending with the genealogy of Son of man Jesus in Luke.

The first born again of many sons of Gods (Christians)

All israel is not and remains not born again Israel .(flesh what the eyes see profits for nothing.)

Israel is a name that Christ named his eternal bride then in Isaiah renamed the same bride ...Christian as a demonym. People identified by location. Christian literal meaning residents of the unseen city of Christ as the wife of Christ The same wife as a signified as a city he began pursuing in Genesis with Abel

God gave them prophecy . . .not signs to wonder after. He called them sign seekers a evil generation (no faith as it is written) .

Signs as metaphors used in parables follow one that is empowered to believe. Many have tested and died drinking literal poison of serpents.

Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Those who have no faith as it is written . made the apostles into a legion of gods. completly mising the gospel that raises ankind to walk with God .

Luke14:7-12 And there they preached the gospel. And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.

Apostle messenger (Greek angelos) sent with the living word of God. Not apostle highly venerable ones that can heal with human touch .

since the dying out of apostles have you known of someone raising a person from the dead?
YES - in my Pentecostal church we have a few testimonies to this.
These signs shall follow them that believe ... still happening today.
Testimonies by Spirit-filled Christians > healings, miracles, blessings, overcoming and being set free, the power of God manifested in disciples lives.

Dont see it
Is it that you don't see Abel being sent (apostle) and Cain murdering him as a martyr?

The first of the second born doctrine in a genealogy it leads to Jesus the Son of man.

Cain is not the the only one that saw no values in the passing of the seed of Christ the unseen spiritual things of God.

Esau saw no value in his birth rite and traded it for a cup of hariy goat soup .

Onan spilled it on the ground .

God sent away Ishmael when Abraham and Sarah laughed at God mocking him.

Why do you think God appointed another seed called Seth instead of Abel? His blood as a member of the bride of Christ calls out for justice even today?

Genesis 4:25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

What are the requirements to become a member of the bride of Christ the church (redeemed mankind) ?

Why teach the church began during the first century reformation and it was not restored to Genesis.

Why destroy the meaning of the word "apostle" as messengers sent with the will of God making them venerable puffed up ones.?

.

Pentecostals must seek after a sign or no salvation . No Holy Spirit
.
Mankind for no reason seeks and makes noise without understanding and falls back slain in the spirit .

Why slain in the spirit .Is not it the spirit of life that works in us?

No litteral sign that men are commanded to seek after

In the power of his tongue he cast out demons not us powerless. He that believes shall be. . not a did did it it proves it self ambition..

It is not I drank literal poison and it has no effect rather than the true understanding False prophecy coming as the poison of false apostles . Speaking new tongue is bringing the gospel the good news as prophecy . . . it saves as a sign someone was empowered to believe and do the good will of God.

Mark 14:118 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Prophecy not signs that lead a person to wonder or marvel . Wondering is not believing it's wondering .A person could wonder forever never coming to a end . .faith . we call it purgatory .

I am very serious in asking thisand wul really like an answer because i do not know.

In the early church, it seems everyone was on the same page.
Exceptions of course.
But if the Holy Spirit teaches all about one subject or topic in the bible, why so many interpretations.
You can ask about a certain verse or doctrine and get 100 different interpretations.
You are going to be my monthly answer. (I visit this website once a month).

As you know the word of God has been subject to many generations of change. I am not quite sure of the figures, but say from Adam to present day there are about 6,000 years(I am not claiming that the earth is 6,000 years old). For each dispensation(measure of time) there has been new developments regarding the word of God. If we are going to speak about doctrinal teaching we must/have to study the Epistles of Peter, James, and John. We also have to study John the Baptist. In this time of Bible history (before the official church began) we see that there are major changes to how things are going to be done. Let's take a look.

2 Peter 1:16 KJV
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

2 Peter 1:20-21 KJV
Knowing this first, that no prophesy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophesy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Here's the most important part of your question.

2 Peter 2:1-3 KJV
BUT there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (2) And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. (3) And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

My answer:

Peter was one of the last apostles (Killed at around 64 A.D.) that saw Jesus Christ in with his own eyes. There were 500 witnesses that saw Jesus raise from the dead. Because of this, in his last days being alive (2 Peter states that he was going to die soon also Jesus told Peter how he was going to die) Peter felt it very important to speak about the coming of the times ahead. Paul (the man who's responsible for writing many of the New Testament epistles) was given the keys to Kingdom. Paul was eventually martyred as well. Some people say Paul was killed around the time Peter was killed. Out of all the 12 original apostles, only one of them was alive around the time of 90 A.D. This man is John. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and the Revelation of Jesus Christ was written by this last apostle. This is very important, in 90 A.D the last living apostle wrote the final scriptures that we know now as the completed Bible. (66 books)

We have to take a look at a snippet of what John was writing as the last apostle that witnesses Jesus Christ.

1 John 4:1-4 KJV
BELOVED, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (2) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: (3) And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, where of ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (4) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Now this is where we get the good stuff.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ 1:11 KJV
...Saying, "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, what thou sees, write in a book, and sent it unto the 7 churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sarid, and unto Philidelphia, and unto Laocicea.

John after being imprisoned saw a vision. In this vision, God spoke to John about the times and matters of the future. One of the vision was regarding what was happening to the churches that we being established. (You can read those if you want)

Matters that John addressed were from the doctrinal wars going on in the times. Rome during that time had many different philosophies. One of these was the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes. It is believed that the idea/ concept of Gnosticism began in these times. To be short it was the idea that we are all just imaginary people in the mind of some God. That we are not real. ⚠️ This is not true of course. Doctrine alert.

Another church had an issue with a prevailing spirit known as Jezebel. the Bible says this church tolerated and listened to this false prophet. As you can see, things are not looking good in this time period. God gets all the glory, and I am not saying the church was defeated. What I am saying is during these times of great struggle, persecution, and idolatry the church was consistently fighting these principalities. At every corner a church was fighting to stay alive. The book of Acts is commonly referred to also as the birth of the modern day church. We often speak about this time, which is great and important; but fail to realize that there has been approximately 2,000 years between us and the first apostles.

Here are but a few very important things to consider

1. Around 325 A.D the counsel of Nicea was hosted. In this very specific counsel there was a great argument as to what the Bible really says. Some people did not believe Jesus Christ risen from the dead. Others did not believe that God was Jesus. Some did not believe that there was one God, and so on.

Because of this counsel, many major religions began to branch off this very moment. Over the course of human history, there has been reformations, defections, and rebellions against differing religions that all claimed to be the church of God. From this point it is impossible to speak about this subject without speaking about a concept known as "The End Of the Age."

The purpose of the Church was to make people ready for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. The 12 original apostles thought that Jesus was returning in their time period. Newsflash He hasn't come yet, but could come soon. Many of these doctrines are due to the fact there is a spiritual war happening in heaven. We cannot see it, but it is there. It's doesn't take too long to find out that the Bible does not hide what is happening.

We live in a world of familiar spirits
We live in a world of false doctrine taught by false teachers
We live in world full of confusion

You cannot assume that just because someone calls themselves a christian that they are 100% trust worthy and follow them without any further questions. You must learn to check the fruit.

I would think a person would have to already chose to use what is called by some "dispensations time periods divided" . literal historical without the meaning of the historical or paraphrase of the time period .The word of God. . two levels it takes a little digging.

The language of parables. again giving meaning to words . Like "apostle" one of the better examples of violating the warning not to add to a word (single) it can change all the commandments just by changing the intent (spiritual plagiarism) . .

God protecting the integrity of his living word he would never give it over to dying apostles.

Deuteronomy 4King James Version Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers giveth you.Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

God's work has been done from the foundation of the world ,We enter his rest by a labor of His love in any generation .(no dispensations ).One under the sun. the other coming . . all die not receiving the new incorruptible bodies.

The official church. . . God in pursuit of a bride began in Genesis not the first century the reformation it restored the government of Christ the government of faith (unseen eternal) to before there were kings in Israel ..the abomination of desolation. . . making as it is written without effect or power.

It's how the word apostle is used . the what some called official church come from a long line of men moved by the power of a unseen Holy God . the twelve apostles a remnant of those sent as nesengers beginning with Abel. They are set aside for another reason .(Revelation 21)

There is no reason to venerate them that have no power of their own for the power that moved them why glory in the flesh of dying mankind?

Note . . . (signifying,) using the temporal things seen as a sign to give the hidden understanding in a figure parable.

Note ... ( figure ) parable the paraphrased understanding .

Note . . .(time of reformation.) two thousand years ago .

Hebrews 9:8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

From my experience there is considerably more spoken of of the 15th century reformation than the first spoken of in hebrews .The first is the foundation of faith (Christ in us) in any generation, any family as a nation. .

Restoring the order or government . .no visible dying venerable King of kings . as kingdoms of men. . . . beginning with the apostle Abel the first martyr.

Mar 16:17 These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages.
Mar 16:18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”

Signs are never bad, it is only bad if someone is seeking signs before they choose to believe (have faith). Signs only come as a result of faith. No faith no signs. Or in other words, faith without works (signs) is dead.

The Holy Spirit TEACHES, but as often as not, Man in his own exalted wisdom, doesn't listen.

Signs not seen as metaphors are used in parables they follow one believes .Again follow not lead as a desire to seek after. No need to drink poison or make noise without understanding .

No outward sign that someone has believed. The law made true. If mankind would literally drink poison they world die. same with the rest of the metaphors used in that parable. The new tongue is the gospel (prophecy). not a ball of confusion slain in the spirit. . . deadly poison false prophecy . it true prophecy raises the dead or faithless.

Signs are for the evil natural unconverted. They have no faith as it is written that could please God ..

Prophecy the one source of Christ's power or faith.

Matthew 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

The Mark 16 parable has the same kind of conclusion as that of the John discourse with faithless Thomas who demanded a sign before he world believe .

Jesus the apostle when given living words from the father God did not say unto faithless unbelieving. "Thomas well done faithful servant, now that you see with your eyes you believe (have faith) . Out rather inthe power of the Holy Spirit

Satan as in all cases turns things upside down as if inspired from earth after dying mankind and not doctrines that fall like rain.

John 20:27
Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

Again lovingly commanded to believe. Then as confirmation of the work of the Holy Spirit Thomas as a new creature it testified to the work of salvation . Let there be and the testimony was "My Lord my God."

John 20: 28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Miracles are"signs" to those who have faith and speak out their faith which comes from God alone.

Gal 3:5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

God supplies to us His Spirit and He (God) works miracles among us not because we are keeping the law, but by the hearing of our faith!

I would offer. . Signs are miracles that show God is moving in us working to both will and do his good labor of love. . It's a miracle mankind can believe a God not seen.

No outward sign was given. The last sign that looked ahead was that of Jonas the three days and nights promised demonstration it was fulfilled .We have prophecy . . .

Signs or war rumor, earthquakes so on just continually do as from the beginning of destruction in the garden of Eden , , signs of the times. People without Christ change not.

Matthew 12:39But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

Jesus said marvel not to the greatest miracle (born again) .

Why marvel or wonder rather than believing prophecy the declared living will of God?

Wondering leads to limbo or purgatory. Believing as it is written is as an anchor to a solid rock. . . Christ our comforting teacher. calming the waves of anxiety .. . The still small voice. . Be still . . .rest

Yoked with Him our daily bread we can rest in the still water of His word. .
