Saddam Executed

I am realistic, I know not everyone is going to make it to heaven because of their own wicked desires, but I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit capable of performing miracles even converting a hardened, hateful evil heart of such a man as Sadamm. He could have lived for many more years and had the chance to repent but now that opportunity has been taken away forever. I could not be the one to pull the trigger, or insert the needle or pull the lever to take another's life. Could you perform this task?

2Corinthians 6:2 "...........now is the day of salvation"

Today could have been the day of salvation for this man, or tomorrow, or next week, or next year. I do not agree with capital punishment.

i wanna say that i agree on what Manal-T said, i think she said what i was going to say, but in a better way...

Hello all,

It's not something I like to contemplate but there are sheep and goats. It's just one of the disagreeable facts of life. There are people in the world who would rob you, rape you, and kill you and think nothing more of it than eating a piece of chicken.

The world has no use for such people, what are do we do with them? Some of them would slit your gizzard as soon as look at you. These are some of the things people at the sharp end of law enforcement and politics have deal with. Just be thankful you are not one of them.

The half has probably never been told about Saddam if you take in to account the war with Iran which he started, the Kurds that were killed with biological weapons, the war with Kuwait, the execution of political opponents, the war in Lebanon which he backed, your looking at a conservative estimate of 1 million plus people killed.

2 Peter 2:11 But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption...

If anyone fits the description of a brute beast it was Saddam, one of the names used for Saddam was the lion, and lions are completely void of pity with their prey. When the prey is created in the image of God, that is showing total and complete contempt for God the Creator.

HouseofJuda,
I would be interested to hear your position in the armed forces at war. I completely understand your point, but have christian brothers in Iraq defending them selves and following orders of our Commander in Chief and struggle with your comment. I don't have any military experience so I don't have any insight as to what the troops go through out there. Thanks.

Hi Max,

I too do not have a any military experience, so I do not know what soldiers in war go through. All I can say is that we pray for them and ask GOD that peace may prevail. One thing I do know, all the leaders that order people into to war are responsible for all those killed and will account before GOD.

thall shall not murder oi?

Thank you janelle4christ for your short and sweet answer. As I brought up the question I was more interested in the opportunity for the Christian community to use this world event, as well as others, to communicate the Love and good news of our Lord Jesus.

As is the world perceive christians as people who think are too good but also judgemental. So instead of jumping in the debate of corporal punishment and weather he (Saddam) deserve it or not, we could bring this event to point out the need of a saviour regardless of the sin.

I truly believe that we are called to witness through our experience of Mercy, Grace, Forgiveness and Love; using our words if necessary.

Humbly, maxseven.

i agree completely.

Comparing sins.

We cannot compare sins of one person to those of another. Sin is sin and they are all wrong. One is as bad as another. Do I agree with putting the man to death? I have no thoughts in the matter. They did what they did and if there is anything to answer too, then God will see to it.

Will I mourn his death or think the laws that put him to death were too harsh? No. Saddam had the wealth of this country at his disposal. He could come and go as he pleased and had more money than he could spend, yet it seems that he chose to kill people as his thing in life.

I would not plead his case nor try to lessen his sentence any more than I would for Satan himself. Satan was the highest angel in heaven and covered the throne of God yet he thought to take over God’s throne instead. Will you plead his case or the cases of the fallen angels who are chained in darkness in hell for their wrong doing saying that God was too harsh?

I don't believe it is our place to sit in the position saying that the finallity of death takes away any chance for him to repent and for that reason it shouldn't have happened. The laws of this world are in place and he got caught. What happens for him now? According to scripture, anyone whose name is not written in the Book of Life will be thrown into the lake of fire.

The thing bothering me is the video of saddam death. I can't get away from it on the news, the internet. Seems everyone's watched it and I heard about the celebrating in Iraq when he was dead. So does this explain why Chad's thread in "10 end time prophecies" in Evidence and Prophecy remind me of the revelation about the two profits that will be killed? It's easy to see that happen like this one.
