I bet you thought I was talking about Jesus...lol

I was reading when Abraham was being tested by God
and he was about to sacrifice his own son Isaac, but an angel
came and stopped him, saying Abraham had proved himself to God.
But I always wondered, what did Isaac think when all this was going on?
I study my Bible frequently, and I love studying it from many viewpoints.

Yer just too cute, ya know that? LOL!

As for what Issac was thinking...I've often wondered the same thing, danni! I mean, he asked his father where the ram was and got the reply, "The Lord will provide."

Then, after they arrive and all is ready for the sacrifice....his father starts binding him up and then placed him on the altar...the poor kid surely has the picture by now!

We can only speculate...but likely, knowing what kind of man his father was and his devotion and love for God, probably Issac understood and accepted that the Lord would, indeed, provide.

Which, of course, He did, as we know. But ya still have to wonder, maybe that Issac would have wiped his brow, if he could, when the angel spoke at that last moment....:sweating:

I figured the same thing!! I thought, since he was
raised with his father's values, that he would come to accept
the fact that it's God's will...
That's a good question I can ask Isaac when I go to Heaven!! :D

Hi Dannibear! I have considered this prayerfully and I believe this is what God was telling me about it.
Abraham had tried to do God's work in his own strength and all he got was Ishmael. Ishmael's decedents still persecute God's people to this day.
God waited until Abraham and Sarah were completely incapable of having a child and then He caused them to do just that. In Abraham's eyes God had already brought life from something dead when He accomplished that.
So personally, I believe that Abraham trusted God's promise (to make him a father of many nations) through Issac. I believe he now understood that even if he offered his son that God was a God of resurrection power and was a God that is always true to His promise.
