There is someone I was glad to know,
he taught me well and watched me grow.
And I am proud of the example he set, and will follow his ways,
by loving and serving God the remainder of my days.
He did well and he finished the race,
and he has left us now to go and take his place.
And we will all miss him very much,
for there are many lives he did touch.
But I know God will fill the void in my heart,
and it is only for a short time that we must part.
For soon the Book of Life will be complete,
and again Heaven will we meet.
But for now I give thanks for memories and times we had,
and I love you God for saving my Dad.
