Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter [and] former rain to the earth. Hosea 6:3 NKJV
This is a brilliant verse tucked into a story of how God corrected His people following their prolonged rebellion. Every sin you could name was being committed by people who took God for granted and felt as if following was optional and obeying was a suggestion.
This verse can provide great encouragement to those who need new shoes to walk in God’s direction, a new mind to remember His plan, and a new heart that stores His wisdom.
Following the Lord once again would take commitment. Those who had walked away would need to return. People who had stopped honoring God would need to retrofit their jaws to move their mouth in worship.
Maybe this kind of recommitment is just what you need. If not today, then sometime in the past or in the future when the embers of love and hope run cold.
When you are intentional about acknowledging God, then He returns with a refreshing spiritual rain that allows growth to resume.
Prayer: Father, You are God. If I haven’t recognized You as the greatest who ever will be, please help my mouth form the words that acknowledge that fact. Help my heart mean it. Bring me back to the place where You restore. I need You.
