I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands. I spread out my hands to You; My soul [longs] for You like a thirsty land. Selah Psalms 143:5-6
It's believed that David composed this psalm while on the run after Absalom's rebellion. Surely, he was recalling the days of old when God continually delivered him from Saul's hands. And in remembering God's faithfulness, he entered worship mode, lifting his hands in his thirst for the Lord. In so doing, he provides an example.
Are you going through a trial right now that feels familiar--one you've endured in the past but hoped to never have to face again? Remember the days of long ago. Remember God's faithfulness.
Talk to the person who prayed with you and walked with you through the trial the first time. Doing so will remind you about the little ways God provided. It will fill you with great hope that God will indeed show up again. Then allow those memories to lead you into a spirit and time of worship.
