"For He will be like a refiner's fire or a launderer's soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver." -Malachi 3:2
A young man went to school to learn how to be a silversmith. As he watched a piece of silver being heated over a fire, an experienced silversmith explained that, "In refining silver, you must hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames are the hottest to as to burn away all the impurities. And you must sit in front of the fire keeping your eyes on the silver the entire time it is being refined. If the silver is left a moment too long in the flames, it will be destroyed."
The young apprentice was silent for a moment. Then he asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?"
The silversmith smiled at him and answered, "Oh, that's easy - when I see my image in it."
If, today, you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has His eye on you and will keep watching over you waiting with loving anticipation for the time He will see His image - in YOU! He is allowing the fire in your life - because Fire Works!

How can going through a tough time be a purifying/refining time? How can going through a refining/purifying time help others see God's image more clearly in your life?

Prayer:
Lord, use these tough times to refine me, to purify me to become more and more like You! May others see Your image in my life as a result! Amen.
