'If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. Leviticus 26:3-4 NKJV

Every decision we make has consequences. We decide how we’re going to respond to other people, to our circumstances, and to our God…and all those decisions affect our lives—and the lives of others—in some way, negatively or positively.

The apostle Paul used farming—something most ancient people understood well—as a metaphor when he wrote, “A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life” (Galatians 6:7-8).

In other words, our attitudes, thoughts, and actions all impact ourselves and others in some way.

At the end of Leviticus, God lists the many blessings that awaited the Israelites if they obeyed Him. But He also lists the punishments they would suffer if they disobeyed.

Today, God gives us the same choices He gave the ancient Israelites. If we choose to sow seeds of disobedience, we’ll harvest destruction. But when we sow seeds of faith and obedience, we’ll harvest the very best God has for us.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your promises of blessing when I obey You from my heart.
