How often do you read your Bible?

I aim to read a section daily but of course life is not consistent. Yet I am aware that if more than a day or two passes without my Bible study, I go downhill, my soul becomes parched. I feel weakened.
As soon as I get back to my routine, I feel stronger, my confidence and peace revives.
The Bible is vital to my wellbeing. It feeds the soul as nothing else could , along with prayer. I aim to read first thing daily and again in the afternoon, when all is quiet at home. Physical food and drink are necessary for the body but even more important is soul food. I see starving souls everywhere, those who do not know they need not starve.

So how do you feel and what is your routine?

I read twice daily. Once in the morning and once in the evening. I read about 9-10 chapters per day. This is coupled with prayer before hand. I do miss some mornings or evenings or even all day, once in awhile. When this happens, I just tell the Lord what's going on and know that FATHER never leaves me nor forsakes me and I muster out of my mouth 'thank You', at the very least.

I make it a point to "catch up" to the pace that was running behind - mostly on the weekends. Of course I think it is quality not quantity time spent in rank order. But it is always good to be in His Word!

Sometimes I'll take advantage of my 15 min breaks (get two per work day) or my lunch to do obeisance to the Lord, pray and read a chapter. I thank you for posting this for I have relocated my carrier Bible from my work back-pack back into my truck so that I can read while at the train tracks, or waiting at the doctor or something like that. I was able to read the other day Psalm 8 at the bank window - and the Holy Spirit comforted me in tears. So yes thank you for you got me thinking of these strategies to best keep the Lord's at my fingertips at all times.

Many times it seems that something is pulling me away from reading and I'll start vacuuming, laundry, pacing around thinking about when I'll open the Book, hop in the shower, go hop on my tractor, just acting all sorts of anxious about it. So its a good fight in which I am fighting!

I have heard this saying before: "no Bible no breakfast" "no read no feed".

Well done, it is a warfare to read your bible. When those demons throws those "Nap Bombs" at you! You cannot hold your eyes open. " The Art of WAR". Those Nap Bombs, is somethings else. You sleep good, If anyone has " insomnia" start reading that Bible from "Genesis and start that march all the way to Revelation" you going to sleep! Don't cheat, that demon is going to make sure you go to sleep! :sob: you are going to sleep! He make you go to sleep while you are praying. especially if he know if you will get something out of it.:eyes:

YES! I know of those too!!!!

When I read in the History Books all those genealogies and ancient names I'm like the lil train that could, one name one syllable, one "iaiah" tongue twister at a time. GOD makin me sing reading those words!!

Just read progressively.
Our Bibles are organized pretty much into sections such as -
The Law or the Pentateuch (Genesis to Moses)
History (Joshua to Esther)
Wisdom (Psalms to Song of Solomon)
Prophets major (Isaiah to Daniel)
Prophets minor (Hosea to Malachi)
The gospels
Acts of the apostles
Epistles from Paul (Romans to Hebrews)
Epistles other apostles (James to Jude)
Revelation of Jesus Christ

So start at the beginning a read a chapter or two a day and think about what you have read ...
as for Proverbs this book is designed to be read one chapter per day corresponding with the date of the month - so on the first of the month you read chapter one, on the seventh day of the month you read chapter seven, and so on.
No matter how many times you reread Proverbs you will always glean some instruction from this wisdom.
Psalms is worth reading a a separate book of prayers and songs on its own.
After you have read the rest of the Bible spend time in Psalms.

No schedule.
Every day? I may not open my Bible every day (working on it) but I use other sources and aids to study, learn, and grow.
Dr. John Barnett - Youtube.
Cold Case Christianity - Youtube
The Bible Project

I pursue Christian movies and music to see where and how our God given imagination and creativity is used to show God and his effect on us to the world despite how it feels about us.
This morning I watched 4 long videos on Revelation by one pastor.
I have 2 good friends and we discuss things by email and in person.
I don't think the Bible is a minimum of what we should pursue.

I like that. God bless you.
Do you feel you have work to do yet, spreading Jesus' message in your own special way? That is how I feel.
