Thanks so much for checking in on me. I have decided that I'm not going to let satan use me to destroy my marriage. I found this book "Created to be his helpmeet" It has really blown my mind and tossed out my understanding of a role of a wife.
It has only been 5 days, but I have been totally submissive to my husband, catering to his every need, not talking back and so on. I can testify to God's glory that things have totally taken a turn for the better! I have realized that it's my reactions that make or break things, especially since I'm the one who is led of the spirit right now.
It's not easy, but I can honestly say that when he wants to fuss, I have kept quiet. The only things I have said to him in these times these past few days is "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to offend you. Can you please forgive me?" How can you argue or stay mad at someone who is so apologetic especially when you know you're in the wrong. It is really working and I thank everyone for their sincere prayers. Perhaps I'm onto something. Perhaps God has finally gotten through my thick skull what I need to do to win my husband. I'll keep in touch cause I'm glad to report good news instead of sad things all the time. God bless

Thank You for Sharing! God Bless you and yours...

I came close to crying upon reading this. You see my wife belittles everything I do in order to force her way. We've been married 14 years and I love her still, very much. We're in a financial crisis because she went behind my back and had an affair with money for over 2 years before I found out. It'll take quite a few years to climb out of the pit. I forgive her and I'm no longer mad at God either. Please forgive me Jesus. I read your post to her outloud and she understands that she has been allowing Satan to use her to destroy our marriage. Wish us luck and please pray for Jeff & Sulu. God knows the address. Thanks!

When our spouses see Christ in us. It is hard for them to not draw close to us.

We need to walk the walk and not talk it.

I will keep you both of you in my prayers, we can not allow satan to continue to destroy christian marriages.

Your sister in Christ,

Praise God, Ladyiwa!!! I would like to give you one word of warning as your sister in Christ who thought she had achieved victory over a similar area of her life until the Lord showed me that I was the one trying to gain the victory instead of accepting HIS victory over it. Now you may not be doing this and if that's the case...PRAISE THE LORD...and just ignore what I've written below.

Don't let this be your victory in the flesh instead of God's victorious work in your spirit-man. In other words, if we in our flesh "try harder" to "be better" by squashing down the feelings, words, emotions, etc. and not letting them rise up and out of our mouths, this is a work done by our own will power and will eventually fail because it is the fruit of the flesh which is temporary in nature. And, how devastating (sp?) that will be to us when it does fail!

Whether or not we actually say or do certain things, if we still harbor those thoughts and feelings in our hearts, we haven't really gained the victory. But, the awesome truth is, the victory is not ours to attain/achieve, rather it is a gift that we must simply obtain/receive!

If WE were able to gain the victory, there would have been not point for the Cross and Jesus' death. It's not about anything that WE can do, but it is all about what HE has done. PRAISE THE LORD! We can experience this victory when we accept that there's nothing WE can do and let go!

Galatians 2:20 says

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ liveth in me: and that life which I now live in the body I live in faith, the faith which is in the Son of God.

PRAISE GOD!

To quote Watchman Nee from his book, "The Life the Wins"...

"Let us fulfill these basic conditions: on the one hand, yielding--recognizing that you cannot and you will not; on the other hand, believe in the Son of God and live--believe in God's fact of Christ living in you and believe that you have received. This is victory. Hallelujah, all is done by Him! May we ask God to show us that all is done by His Son without our help. This, and only this, can be called victory."

Amen! I am happy for you, Ladyiwa, and I look forward to seeing more wonderful changes and results!!! Just remember, they have to be the Lord's changes and results, not ours. They have to be done by Him ALONE because there is nothing that we can add! In this there is not only victory but FREEDOM!

Will be praying for you and yours...God bless you, sister!

ladyiwa, your feelings and thoughts matter to God. He cares for you. Take your hurt, sorrow, and anger to God, for your husband is not yet ready to receive your thoughts on the matter when he is unfair to you. You must lean upon God, and hopefully other strong christian friends, so that you can openly share your feelings and leave them there at the altar with your God. Otherwise, you will get sick or depressed from all the stress that your hubby heaps upon you. I know this....I learned it the hard way.

I love you, and so do the rest of us at tJ. Praying for you.

Remember, His Word says, "Be angry, but sin not."

Now, how in the world can we do that?? It's not fair how he treats you, is it? So when you are angry, God understands that you feel angry. The hard thing is...you've got to talk about it with God and leave it there at the altar in His hands. I hope you have a support group or someone you can talk to that is a strong christian. Please e-mail me anytime. I would so like to be a listening ear and a soft heart for you. You are trying so hard and I am proud of you. But it is God himself who works in you and God is the one who will bring your husband to his knees.

Praise You, Lord.
