Quotes

What a ring means to a bride, what the instrument is to a musician, the pen to a writer, the flag to a patriot, the cross is to a Christian. It is the symbol of the suffering servant. It is the guidepost showing the hard road to victory. When a Christian sees the cross he knows he has not lost the way.

Hi jiggyfly ... are those Paul quotes scriptural verses? I tried pulling out keywords and doing a search but didn't find them.

Which ones are you referring to? Sometimes I post different translations and versions of the scriptures.

"It is possible to be so active in the service of Christ as to forget to love him. Many a man preaches Christ but gets in front of him by the multiplicity of his own works. ... Christ can do without your works; what he wants is you. Yet if he really has you, he will have all your works." - P.T. Forsyth

Whom or what we worship

Just as God created man and woman in his image, the gods we choose to worship manifest their attributes in the worshiper. So in deciding what or whom we worship, you are making life decisions regarding your values, your priorities, and how you are to live.

- Jack Hayford

We tend to use prayer as a last resort,
But Jesus wants it to be our first line of defence.
We pray when there is nothing else we can do, but Jesus wants us to pray before we do anything at all
