"Truth is so obscure in these times, and falsehood so established, that, unless we love the truth, we cannot know it." ~ Blaise Pascal

"The hardest construction to get into a mind of the beginner is that the education upon which he is engaged is not a college course, not a medical course, but a life course." - Sir William Osler

*On a personal note,I love this quote. Anyone on here who has studied or is studying medicine will know what this quote is talking about. Studying medicine, as said in the quote here, isn't just a college course, it's a life course, in so many ways than one.*

"I see God's love in my loved one's eyes. I feel God's love in the cool summer breeze. I hear God's love in the bird's song."

"Renew your inner energy and refresh your soul by simply taking a few moments each day to reflect upon the beauty and perfection of God's creation."

“Everybody can be great...You only need a heart full of grace.”
—Martin Luther King, Jr.

Some people say, "I go to church, so I am a Christian." But that's like saying if you go to McDonald's you are a Quarter Pounder.

“Obedience, pure and simple, opens up a pathway for the work of God.”
—David Stevens

Billy Graham is THE man! I love him very much and his family, the ministers like Franklin, Ruth, etc.

That is a perfect quote for today's times.

YES ! Billy Graham is incredible. I dont know if any of you have seen it, but there is this recording out there, (i saw it on the internet) of an interview between Billy Graham and Woody Allen. Its awesome because they are two total opposites, and yet they dont fight or argue. Billy is especially awesome the way he goes about explaining himself and such, it was just a really sweet video to watch, kind of funny, too.

Woody Allen even agreed to attend one of his sermons. :shade:

oh but, since this is a quotes thread, Ill end it with this bit of wisdom from Ralph Emerson -
"Whoever is open, loyal, true; of humane and affable demeanour; honourable himself; faithful to his word as to law, and faithful alike to God and man... such a man is a true gentleman"

"Love is magical. It's a language the deaf can hear, a song the crippled can dance to, and a sunset the blind can see."

quotes (from my pack of signature files hehe)

The Lord doesn't ask about your ability, only your availability; and, if you prove your dependability, the Lord will increase your capability. -- unknown

Charity is no substitute for justice withheld. - St Augestine

To pity distress is but human; to relieve it is Godlike -- Horace Mann

Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny. -- Andre Maurois

If a man is not Liberal by the time he is twenty, then he has no heart; if he is not Conservative by the time he is fourty, then he has no brain -- Winston Churchill

Anyone who doesn't take Truth seriously in small matters cannot be trusted in large ones either. -- Albert Einstein

Liberty will not descend to a people; a people must raise themselves to liberty; it is a blessing that must be earned before it can be enjoyed. --Charles Caleb Colton

Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do. -- John Wolfgang Von Goethe

Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny. -- Andre Maurois

I remember some of those and this one I really like and it is so true. We have to take our thoughts captive.

2 Cor.10.5 KJV

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

NIV

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

God bless you sister Janette. :rose: :rainbow:

Hi and much love and blessings to all during this special time of lent.

I like this one.

"Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbour... Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting. ”
Mother Teresa

The quote that is my now my favourite went something like this:

The president of the USA asked Mother Teresa upon receiving the nobel peace prize in 1979, "What can we do to promote world peace"? Her answer was simple she replied "Go home and love your family"

God Bless and kisses to all XXXXX
