For who is God except the LORD? Who but our God is a solid rock? Psalm 18:31 NLT
There are two questions in the above verse that God wants you to answer—and your answers will show whether you will need to keep thinking or whether your mind, heart, and spirit agree on something incredibly important. It is vital that you know the real God who never changes.
If every part of you can answer “God” to both questions, then there is profound wisdom and acceptance of truth in your heart. If your mind and heart can’t agree on the answer, then you still have a problem. You could rephrase these proclamations: God alone is the Lord and no one is stronger than God.
You have the incredible privilege of reading God’s Word, thinking about what He has said, and making decisions based on what you’ve learned. The questions of the Bible exist because God wants you to think. He wants you to learn. The truth is that you also need to know if what you’re studying is making sense and changing your heart.
Prayer: Thanks for giving me teachable moments, Father. I don’t want to skip past Your questions. I want to spend time thinking about how what I’ve learned will help answer Your questions. You are God, and there’s no one and nothing stronger.
