Hi Jessica

First, if you have confessed your sins to GOD and accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are saved.
You know you can't just stop their....it's not enough to only believe that
Jesus is Christ...James2:19-20Thou believest there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that
faith without works is dead?
Then how can one be saved?.....
*By obeying the Gospel.
What is The Gospel?
*The death, burial and resurrection.
How does one get the death, burial and resurrection applied to their life?
Romans6:1-6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid.
How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were
baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized
into his death?
4 Therefore
we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For
if we have been planted together in the
likeness of his death, we shall be
also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our
old man is crucified with him, that the
body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Notice that baptism in the name of jesus washes away sin.
Death=repentance
Burial=baptism
resurrection= walking in the newness of life.
How do we get reed of our sins?
We can not get reed of our own sin. (But God can.) In the Old testament they sacrificed animls when they sinned.
Leviticus 17:11 For the
life of the flesh is
in the
blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an
atonement for your souls: for it is the
blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
Life of the flesh is in the blood, if you take blood out of a living soul, it dies.
* Atonement means cleansing or covering.
God says he has given the blood upon the altar for an atonement ,or covering. In the OT life was in the blood.
Once Jesus died on the cross we no longer needed to sacrifice any animals, because the ultimit Lamb, Jesus Christ, was sarificed. But how can we get the blood of Jesus applied to our lives?.....We can geat it applied through his name and baptism.
John 20:31...that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have
life through his name. In the NT life is in the name of Jesus. Baptism in the name of Jesus birngs the atonement or covring, that our sins may not be seen, but cover in the blood of the lamb.
John preached baptism and the Holy Ghost
Jesus preached baptism and the Holy Ghost
Paul preached baptism and the Holy Ghost
apostils preached baptism, and today we are still preaching the importance of Jesus name baptism and the Holy Ghost.
