Question About Heaven.....

I often read and watch of people who say they were taken by Jesus in their dreams and taken to hell and Heaven where they get to see angels, dead relatives and all the lovely things in Heaven. They also mention that Jesus said this and that, He told us to write this and that down, like what happened to Paul when He wrote the book of Revelations. Others say they died and they were shown these things before being brought back to life again. My question here is, How Far True Is That? Is it really true and does that really happen to anyone?

Mendy: My first comment is to mention that the Apostle Paul did not write the Book of Revelation, rather it was written by the Apostle John.

I have read a number of these books myself. In addition, I have counseled a few people who have made this claim. My only response is Hebrews 9:27. This verse plainly states that it is appointed to men ONCE to die.

Simply stated - dead is dead. If you are dead, you don't come back to life. If you "come back" you were not dead. Having said that, this does not negate the miracles of Jesus and the Apostles in the early New Testament period.

Another noteworthy fact, in my experience, is that these events at some point contradict clear Scripture. When it doesn't line up with the Word of God, then someone is confused.

I hope this may have provided some additional insight for you. BLESSINGS. Doc
