Put on the Belt Of Truth
In your battle to become a successful, productive Christian you first need to put on the Belt of Truth. The covering of God's protective armor begins with this belt. As listed in Ephesians 6, the Belt of Truth is the first in a list of 7 key components to your spiritual armor. As you seek to live life as a true disciple of Christ, you will face opposition. This opposition is from renegade spiritual forces, and the battle is for your soul. The gateway to your soul is your mind, henceforth the need to guard your mind with truth. It's not by chance that the belt is the central component that holds all your gear together. Whenever you are attacked, it begins with a lie. Satan lies to you about who you are or your value to God.
You believe lies about what will fulfill you or how much your actions matter. You're convinced that wrong is right or that nobody sees. This is where the Belt of Truth can guard your soul. The way to combat lies is with the truth, God's Truth. The Bible is the book of God's Truth. As you read and memorize His Word, you will have the ability to spot those deceptive lies and prevent yourself from being led astray. Without His Truth to guard your heart and mind, you are open prey to the schemes of the devil, and you have nothing to hold the rest of your armor in place. Don't underestimate the value of living a life of truth and integrity. Your impact as a soldier of the cross depends on it. God be with us all as we learn to stand firm in Him...
