It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory. (KJV). We need to be careful as not to allow ourselves to get so puffed up on our works. We should take a careful examination of our intent of the reason we do what we do. Are we serving the Creator for his Glory or is our intentions that of our on vanity. Are we trying to be people pleases. Do we bow down to false doctrines and agree just to agree. Do. We have a hidden agenda. And therefore try to out wite or say, out smart the next guy. If this is the case than before you is the truth of this Proverb. Jesus spoke of this in reference in ( JOHN 5:44); How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? Paul warned us about this in ( PHP 2:3), and even gave us a reason of better intent and frame of mind; Let nothing be done through strive or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. I have lived this Proverb in my life and still there are days that in my complaining that my wife is quick to remind me of EPH 6:7; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men (KJV). So remember the next time you embark on a project or find yourself involved in God's work it will help you to ask yourself these question, why am I doing this and who am I doing it for. If its for God and His Kingdom than pray that He'll add you with the comfort of the Holy Spirit and you will find that He will provide you with good intentions and a just and nobel cause. That to be His glory, His honor , and His Kingdom through Christ Jesus in you. May God bless you for Jesus sake, Amen. Yort (TROY)
