I am going to see the doctor Wednesday regarding my diabetes. I have had it for the last 11 years. I know it is not under control as well as it needs to be. My son also has diabetes and he has problems with controlling it and ADHD as well. I am exercising at least three times a week and trying to be disciplined in what I eat, but having a hard time. My energy level is low and I get frustrated with the lack of progress.

Jeff: I too have diabetes. (which I will use "d" for) I have several other serious health problems, mostly caused by being in the Navy 1964-1974. It took 6 years for the Navy to give me a Honorable Discharge, medical issues kept me in. I have had cancer too. I have lows and when they are in the fifties it takes me a long while to get back to sorta normal.

I thing every D I know has a hard time. My A1C is 70 to 72, which keeps me out of the VA D clinic, they consider 71 under control. I have been as high as 358. My lowest # was 48, and I could not walk and could not hardly move. My wife is my life saver and fulll time care giver. D is a issue that can cause death so be careful!

Sweets like icream are a temptation for most D's. Exercise it helpful, I bought w stationary bike and thats helping too.

My sugar once was 1008 ! i was taken to the hospital as i kept passing out ! I spent 4 days there and when i got out , i had to take 5 shots a day ! 3 novalog and 2 lantus !

i was praying to be healed , but only if it could be in His perfect will ! I did not want to be healed in His permissive will !

About a week and a half after coming home 1 I awoke one night , iI was sweating very bad ! I checked my sugar it had dropped to some where in the 30 s . I ask a much of sugar filled junk and it went to 96 ! so i went back to bed 1 after that I no longer took shots or anything !

I was fairly low a few weeks ago and got so dizzy I fell in the bathroom and hit my head. My wife fortunately heard me fall and helped me. She is a nurse which is a blessing. Most of the time I am too high. I could not get my blood sugar down this last weekend most of the weekend despite a lot of insulin. Not sure what happened there. Some days are like that. Today I jogged 3 miles,so that helped bring it down.

Thanks for sharing this. I have never heard of anyone living after a high of 1008, yet alone a low of 30!!!! You are living proof that nothing is impossible with GOD! I too have been rescued from deaths door. I had massive blood clotts in my lungs and sent to put my affairs in order that there was NO HOPE. My wife and I planned my funeral, our family was near and for almost fourty days we prayed just to be in the center of Gods will. Our church was asked to pray the same thing. At the 40 day mark we asked for another Cat Scan. We went to the hospital and had the Scan. Three hours went by and finally we were told there were NO clotts left!!! The Radologist who was a christian, he stated in 32 years he had never seen someone survive with lungs so full of clotts. He gave Jesus the total praise. He gave us the pictures of the Cat Scans beoth before and after along with the Doctors notes from the Cat Scans. I have shared these with a number of people and a christian mens group. I give praise to the lord. That was in july 2004. So I have 100% medical proof that anyone can see. I forgot to mention the year before I had cancer, and was treated with radation. Both times I asked our Pastor to anoint me with oil and pray for the will of God to be done. The anointing with oil is not magic but, but an act of faith and obedience.

I saw my doctor this morning. My A1C test was better than last time, but still too high. I am going to be keeping a food diary to keep track of what I eat to help me get back on track. It is a daily challenge to stay on track with this.

I've been keeping a food diary for two days now, my blood sugars are still too high. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I haven't changed the dosage on my long term insulin, but it just doesn't seem to be working as well as it was before.
