Prayers for my step dad

My mom has informed me that my step-dad Ross is in the hospital. As of now, the doctors aren't sure what is wrong. They say it could be Crohn's disease, a twisting of one or both of the intestines, or appendicitis. They did a CAT scan last night. They found the intestines inflamed and having spots on them. BUT WE KNOW A GREAT GOD!! The Healer! I ask for healing prayers. Pray that the doctors find what is causing the problem. The most awesome thing is that Ross asked for prayers! I'm uncertain of his beliefs, but he grew up Catholic so pray for salvation as well.



Update from my mom on Sept 18th. (from her email I got yesterday)

another day went by with the start of a test at 5a.m., 5:30a.m. and again at 2:00 p.m. the test at 2 was a colonoscopy of the bowel. That test showed the doctors that they could only go in 8inches of the bowel due to a blockage of knots. Took a biopsy and sent it away should be back as early as monday or begining of the week. They are looking to see that the biopsy is not cancer due to cancer runs in his family. Tomorrow friday we will meet around 9a.m. with the surgeons about surgery which needs to be done immediatly. I will know more about surgery tomorrow and let everyone know when. Ross again asks for your prayers at this time.

Update

I am writing because I just checked email and my mom sent out an email about my step dad Ross very early this morning...around 4am. This is what she wrote.


I need to let all of you know that Ross is having emergency surgery today saturday sept.20 he has a tumor in the colon that is cancer and needs to have it removed before it burst. We (Ross and I ) are asking for you to pray as he has this done.It will be at 7:30a.m. today it will be a long slow road ahead of us but we know God is in this with us and he knows all. Of course we are scared and not real sure of the outcome other then they say 1month recovery and then 5 1/2 months of radioation and chemo 5 days a week this will be done in Lancaster at the health center. As more info comes available I will forward on that news. Wow I think it just hit me of what really is happening in my life today it will be a change for us as we go through this together and with the help of God's people.





I am having a hard time with this because my husband, Ben, and I are in Virginia and my family are mostly all in Pennsylvania. Thank you for praying. It is good to know that there are people who will pray for those they don't know personally. May God bless you with strength and peace and faith and all that you pour out will be added back to you ten-fold.

Update again

I just talked to my mom. She said that the doctors believe they got all the cancer in the surgery early this morning. Ross will need Chemo and Radiation since his parents and two aunts all had some form of cancer.

Ross is home!

My mom called me this morning. My stepdad, Ross, is home now. She brought him home last night. Keep them in your prayers. Over 10 years ago, my mom had open heart surgery. So, this is another bump in the road for them.

Update

Continue to pray for my mom and my step dad Ross and our family. Ross is very depressed at times especially when he doesn't get a treatment. Ben and I will be going to see them for a short time in August and also for Christmas. I know they would covet your prayers.

UPDATE!

This is an email my mom sent out on October 9, 2009! PRAISE GOD!!

Hey everyone just a few words on Ross. Ross will be having surgery on October 21 for the reversal of the bag.It will be about a 2 to 5 hour procedure do to 3 other surgeries put into one. He will have the reversal, plastic surgery to put stomach back to normal(tummy tucker), belly button hernia fix, and stents in the urinary track vessels(so that they do not cut the vessels as the surgery is preformed). He is nervous of course and ready to be put back together again. Please pray for him and I as we go through this one more time and that all goes according to the doctors say.Thanks.
