2007 has been a challenging year for me in many respects. I ended up in the emergency room with an erratic heartbeat in late April, was layed off from my job in June, had a close friend/former employee commit suicide in August, and then received news of many cancers suddenly afflicting my father in mid-August. I felt rather hopeless in all of these situations. Rather than fret and stress over any of this, I chose to spend many hours in prayer and Bible reading. What did I discover through this?
Well, I found that my stress levels were reduced to about nothing. This impacted my heartbeat in a most positive manner. My heart beats regularly now. I am close to a new job which will allow me to telecommute (I have worked from my home for years). My relationship with my Father and father have been VERY postively impacted. I am closer now to both than ever in my 42 years. And the best part is that those cancers afflicting my father, well, here is the the update I received from him last night:
Dear Pastors, staff and our TMTIC family and prayer warriors:
Marge and I met with my internist late Thursday afternoon. He read the radiologist’s report of my X-rays of my lungs taken last Friday. He also went over the lab reports with them. Marge is an experienced RN and understands all the medical terminology. She had a hard time containing her joy.
In summary, it stated the lungs no longer showed any sign of cancer. Two weeks ago, my lower right lobe and right middle lobe had no lung sounds at all. These were the two lobes that I had removed by surgery in 1957 and 1958 followed by 16 years of antibiotics prior to my healing when I prayed with Rex Humbard at a rally in Green Bay. My remaining lungs had lots of crackles two weeks ago and they were clear yesterday.
The lab reports showed major improvement in most areas and were normal in many areas. The doctor said, "I sometimes see miracles with cancer." He does not fully comprehend that the Lord has been answering prayers, as he is a Buddhist. Cynthia, his nurse loves the Lord Jesus and she rejoiced greatly with Marge and me when she read my blood test results before we met with Dr. Huang. My next appointment with Dr. Huang is in three weeks. He said, “You will be feeling better the next time I see you.” Several weeks ago, he called me on a Friday to tell me I needed to see him because it appeared I had liver cancer.
Only an expensive PET Scan which I had sometime ago, would show every organ in its current condition, as the cancer had attacked at least 5 different organs in my body including my lungs, pancreas, gall bladder, prostate and 2 bone metastasis. My liver is now functioning almost normally.
Marge changes my dressings daily as I have a bile tube on my right side with a bag collecting bile. I told Marge last night, “everyone should be married to a nurse!”
Therefore, I still have a need for prayer for energy, proper bowel functioning and other hurdles to overcome on this Healing Journey.
I will look forward to no longer being a Hospice patient.
But I have frequent appointments throughout the day and evening with my Chief Physician, our Lord Jesus.
As you continue to pray I will continue to get better.
All praise and glory to God my Father, who has done a marvelous work in my body.
Be Blessed In Every Area Of Your Life
Love,
Jerry & Marge
Praise the Lord!!
