What is the difference between prayer of petition and prayer of faith?

I found this about faith prayer:

"Jesus says in Mark 11:24, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Notice that this scripture does not say to believe that you will receive. No! It says to believe that you have received. This means that you must believe that you have the answer already, even before you physically possess the answer. This is faith."

I guess by believing you've already received it, that's faith. And then I also read that this kind of prayer and faith comes from knowing God's word and having a specific promise from Him that you can base your prayer on. And, therefore, because you have that promise from God you can have the faith that you will receive it. Right?

So then does that mean that a prayer of petition does not have a specific promise from God in His word that you will receive what you ask for?

I would strongly suggest you have a scripture for every request you make. Prayers of petition should be prayers of faith don't you think?

I"m not taking scripture out of context. Maybe the reason you don't understand the verses I share is because they are not interpreted. I'm simply saying what God says.
