Prayer Warriors

Hey, it is great that you are wanting to pray. Can I ask you a question without you or anyone else getting offended? Do you know what a prayer warrior is? Being a prayer warrior is more than just praying for a situation or someone in need of a breakthrough. It is part of it yes, but being a prayer warrior is one of the highest callings God can give someone. It means that he trusts you and knows you are able to do it. It takes an obediant and determined person to be a prayer warrior. Or what most call it, Intercessory Prayer.
It took me a while to figure out that Intercessory Prayer was my calling in life due to the fact that I was fairly new at being a christian, and blessings were happening so fast. But prayer warriors are those who are willing to get up at 3 in the morning, and start praying for whoever God lays on their heart. They will pray no matter what they feel like, how tired they are, or how much they have already prayed. A prayer warrior will stand in the gap for a person they dont even know. God shows me people all the time to pray for and I do. I may not know them, or why I am praying for them, but I am filling the Gap for them so God can touch them. It is sometimes hard being a prayer warrior, but it is a blessing.
I'm not saying that you are not one, please dont think that. I was just curious as to if you knew what it is. Or if someone is reading this who did not know. You never know, but God does.

Thanks for that I actually didn't know what a prayer warrior is really... I just know that prayer is a huge thing and its becoming a bigger part of my life.
THe Salvation Army in NZ are prayer 24-7 this year so at every minute of the day someone around NZ is praying.. and yea we have been having huge discussions about prayer. At the Easter Camp I went to I went praying in the middle of the night and all sorts it was fun.
So yea.. I dunno if I'm supposed to be a prayer warrior but I know that praying is a huge thing and really important.. I find prayer awesome and love praying so yea... thanks for the info.

Inrobar, excellent response. This is true and very true. I love praying, I want to pray more and more and even for those who I do not know personally. Its a great feeling to do this and just let GOD do His will.
Just to let you know Charsta, the prayer warrior group idea is old and long gone. It was started nearly two years ago by me to get people to be active on the forums (build it up). Now, there are many praying for each other on the forum even without the others asking! LOL. Its very active and Praise GOD for this!

Oh yea cool..
Chad, the Salvation Army are doing it in NZ but there is a whole 24-7 prayer thing spread all around the world. The SA in NZ have just decided that it would be a cool thing to do. Maybe you should check out the 24-7 prayer website.. 24-7 is huge all over the world... with prayer rooms open all over the place. Its really cool.

i had a dream once involving my pastor and he said what the dream likely ment was that im supposed to be him and his wife's prayer warrior. i know now what a prayer warrior is but could you maby explaint to me in more detail what you think i should do, cause im very afraid that i do the wrong thing or dont do something, and that might lead my pastor into trouble, or something like that (you get my point?).

vlooi, i know that the bible says that Love covers a multitude of sin...and in your prayers for your pastors i know that, not saying that you would sin by praying for them, but God would see your heart towards them and by praying someting accidently not the right thing, God would make it right. And besides, i can pretty much be sure that you are not the only one praying for your pastors.
If your pastors truly hear from God and are led by the Spirit, then their advice is usually the best for you. By me saying these things, i am not presuming anything that is not right and that i presume that they hear from God anyway
I think that God may be trying to grow you into an area of prayer that is greater than where you are at right now. He will teach you the right way to do things....the Holy Spirits job is to teach us in all truth, even in the areas of prayer and intercession.
there should be nothing to fear in this area, especially about leading your pastors down a wrong path. all we can really do is pray for them that God would guide them in all their dealings with everything they are involved in.

This is my slant on the "prayer warrior" thing. I am a firm believer and participant in intercessory prayer. But, I believe that being a prayer warrior goes beyond that.Chad said:

While this story does not refer to prayer, I think it points out the mantra, if you will, of a true prayer warrior:
Not long after WW II, Winston Churchill was invited to give the commencement address at his alma mater's graduation ceremonies. The auditorium was packed with graduates and their families, other students , etc. On the platform were the faculty and quite a number of dignitaries.
When he was introduced, Sir Winston strode to the podium, grasped its sides with his hands, looked out at the graduates and said, "You must never give up! Never give up! Never! Never! Never!". Then he turned and walked off the stage.
As I see it, the mantra of the prayer warrior should go something like this: When you pray; pray believing (Mk 11:24) and never give up!
