Brother INChristAlone! Blessing to you my brother! What is it that many look for in this? I know of so many brothers and sisters that have this very same problem!YOU are not alone in this! Please read 2 Cor 12:9-10 This is not an excuse to continue!! What this is, is a reason to draw us that much closer to the Lord,as the enemy would say to you see!!
You can't get close to the Lord ,because you do this! We have been given so much knowledge by the world now,our computers have at the very press of a button brought us into any kind of world we wish to go into. You know my prayers are with you!
Thoughts come,like a busy intersection of traffic,they sometimes come so fast,we have very little time for our flesh to react to them,and before we even know it,we have pushed a button that leads us in an area we have no business looking at.
To help renew our mind in Christ,we must remember what jesus told us.Mark 4:24 be careful even for what we hear. Many think this only involves that which is outside of us,no our flesh can talk to us to! It can say things to our mind,our flesh can even tell us what to do,IF!! we let it!
What greatly helped me in this matter,was when the flesh is speaking,know who is speaking! We sure know the good Lord Jesus would not have our eyes to look upon that which our flesh wants. But this takes time and practice to be in tune with Holy Spirit in us. So brother work on this.
I had to,allow Holy Spirit to pierce those thought before we sin! It is not the thought that is the sin,it is the one who entertains this thought to commit to sin. the longer we listen to the flesh,the more likely we are to entertain the thought,thereby doing what we sure did not want to do.
We must replace this,even as one looks to replace the love one wants from another. That is why God's Word needs to become our eyes,we have to renew our very mind by his living Word. When the thought comes because one feels lonely and wishes to be loved, instead of going to the computer,which can only increase the need even further,we must go, to where not only our mind can have peace,but our flesh as well. Rom 7:18
Paul battled just like us! please read rom 7:15-25 Then find scriptures to replace the thought. Read them outloud,for faith cometh by hearing( rom 10:17) Write them down on a piece of paper, and put this piece of paper next to you on the computer!! So when the flesh gets tempted Jesus is right next to you watching you! Encouraging you,helping you!
When I first did this to my own self,it worked wonders for me!! LOL When my mind wanted to wonder over to the flesh realm,I looked to the left of me,and saw what i had written in big bold print!! Ephesians 4:1!!! Therefore I the prisoner of the LORD IMPLORE YOU( or I beg you!) to walk in a manner WORTHY of the calling with which you have!! been CALLED! That really helped me! many other scriptures you can use of course,but this one did it for me!!
The point is this,to stop, we have to do something about it,you remember when you came to Jesus,was it only by his Words that saved us,or was it by what Jesus DID for us to save us! Jesus had to die,and so does our flesh in him.But that is not the end!! NO NO NO!!
For from death of our flesh, comes great life of Jesus in us!( Galatians 2:20) and 2 cor 5:17-21) But my brother, we have to do something!!(James 1:22) Jesus has freed us,our cell door is open now,but we have to walk out of it,and take our Lords hand and follow him!( Matt 16:24-26) In order to follow,we are going to have walk behind him.( Colossians 2:6-10) May this help so many,who have been in so much pain over this!!
