Prayer request for brother SpiritLedEd

Brother SLE posted this in his journal.

I've posted here about my sons liver problems; that we knew he'd be needing a new liver (second transplant) soon. Well, his liver has pretty much totally failed.

He was hospitalized last Thursday complaining of shortness of breath, among other things. Friday, doctors at our local medical center said he had pneumonia. This morning, they told my wife (his mother) that he was dying and the only hope was to get him to the transplant hospital 100 miles away today. The local doctors even expressed doubt that he would survive the trip. He was taken there by a medical evacuation helicopter this afternoon (Sunday, 8 July).

My wife rode to the transplant center with my sister and brother-in-law this evening. As of this writing, I haven't heard from her.

I remember a long while ago, someone was sick and the TJ members wrote a short message to that person. I think it would be great if you can open your heart after saying a prayer for David and write a short message for him.

If brother SLE chooses to, he can read these messages to David some time.


Hi David,

My name is Jako. I'm 23 years old, I'm a young man and I live in South Africa.
David your dad and I are part of an online community, we mainly talk about things relating to God and the Bible, but what I and your dad share is the fact that we are both moderators here.

Your dad asked us to keep you in prayer when your condition started to go backwards recently. I have prayed for you for a few days, this is my 4th day at the time of writing this message that I have prayed for you.

Please know that you are in my prayers, even if you don't believe in what I believe, that is fine. I have read about you last year as well, after your dad talked about you and you've been on my mind frequently.

I live near the Kruger National Park in South Africa. It's one of the biggest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. We've got lions and rhinoceroses and elephants, even hippopotamuses. I don't have a lot of opportunities to visit the park, but if I do, it's always fun.

My name is Gill and I am in my 40's and I live in South Africa too. I am British born, but have spent the last 15 and half years in South Africa, after marrying a South African.

I only knew our Father in Heaven, about 2 years ago David. More so in the last year, have I had a more meaniful relationship with Him. His love for us, is so strong and powerful, He sent His son to us to show us the way to Him. He loves each and evey one of us, and He wants all of us to be in eternity with Him some day, when He sends His son back. I have done many things in my life, travelled to various countries, met up with and had some wonderful times with some interesting people, but having this relationship with Our Father in Heaven, can't bring home to any of that, what I have done, all throughout my life.

Many of us at Talk Jesus are concerned about you David, and you are in many of our prayers, so we hope and pray for speedily recovery for you.

Think about it this way. What if you were in David's position? Would you not want support? Would you not be happy if someone told you that they were praying for you and that you were in their thoughts?

Open your hearts Talk Jesus and please pray for David, and if you choose to, write a small message to him.
