My heart is overflowing with a good theme; I recite my composition concerning the King; My tongue [is] the pen of a ready writer. Psalm 45:1 NKJV
Words of praise for the Lord Jesus Christ—whether spoken, sung, or written—should come from the deepest parts of our hearts. Our King Jesus, after all, left His eternal home to come to earth to live as a man, die a sacrificial death, and then be raised from the dead. And one day, He will return and then reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.
Jesus is worthy of nothing less than the very best we can give Him, and that includes the expressions of praise that bubble up from our very hearts.
What can you praise God for today? For the wonder of creation? For loving you so much that He sent His Son to die for you? For giving you His Holy Spirit so that you can live the way He wants you to live and so you can tell others about Jesus?
Just open your mind and your heart; then write down a nice, long list of things you can praise God for. Then praise Him with everything you have!
Prayer: Glorious Father, there are countless reasons for me to open my mouth and praise You. Fill my heart with a spirit of praise and my mouth with words that lift up Your wonderful name.
