2Pe 1:4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
2Pe 1:5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge,
2Pe 1:6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness,
2Pe 1:7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.
2Pe 1:8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I want to share something with you that happened to me today and through it I received an eye opening revelation.
Today I went to another town to attend a meeting in connection with my work. We finished early and I was home earlier than usual.
I looked forward to this extra time because I wanted to download extra podcasts from Joyce Meyer and I usually don’t have enough time to do everything.
Half an hour after starting my project there was a power failure. The electricity was off for almost 2 hours. It came on again just to go off about 40 minutes later. After 20 minutes it came on again.
I had to start my downloads over twice and during the time that there was no power I could do nothing, not even make a cup of coffee. Being without electricity wasted my time and it left me helpless because in this day and age we are completely depended on electricity.
God’s divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness. There can’t be a power failure when God’s power is with us and we are also completely depended on this power that God provides.
What can happen is that we can experience a spiritual power failure but only because we switched of the power of God through negligence and disobedience, leaving us in the same situation that I was in this afternoon (helpless).
If you experience a spiritual power failure turn to God in prayer and repentance, He will never refuse you His power. No Christian can live without the power from God, if we try, it will produce works in the flesh and that work will burn away like hay in the fire of God.
1Co 3:13 each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. [/B]
Live an abundant life in the power of God.
