Discernment - ever feel that "Thwunk" on the back of your head, the one from God? (You may have had the experience from your mom as a child. Lol)

I know from talking with many, both here and abroad that a majority believe when baptized with water, you are also baptized in the Spirit. There are always exceptions, but generally, not so. John the Baptist stated, "I baptize you with water, but the one that comes after me will baptize you with power and fire"

He clearly states Two separate baptizims.

Discernment IS a Gift of the Holy Spirit. Or at least the Discernment that is God's Clanger.

This Discernment not only teaches us what is right and wrong, but opens our mind to what comes from God, and what does not.

For those claiming to have it, should be in unison to the truth on many topics. And with Discernment, come the peace of God in your heart. ( the peace of God and your own peace are two separate things).

All these discussions we have been having, rapture and many others, would have been cleared up. If only those with Discernment would just use thier Gifts.

I have been told by a few here, that the Gifts are to be used only when God requires them to be. To me, that is absurd. If you give your child a construction set to play with. Does he only play with it when you say it is ok to do so. Or does the child play with it on his own time.

The Gifts are gifts to be used whenever we need them. And even more importantly. We, WE Christians, need to become familiar, primarily with Discernment, to distinguish truth and falsehood.

We are walking in this time of Revelation, revealing God's great works. Let us not be complacent to God's hand in the world. But let us Rejoice.

I have a decent amount of discernment. I used to think it was a common gift amoung christians, but either I was wrong, or I just have more than normal, not sure. I do think this gift is truly critical to those who want to fit together with the body of Christ though, although with the shape of the church nowdays, I guess I shouldnt be too surprised.

There are a number of Christians who have the Gift of Discernment, but having the Gift and using the Gift are two different things. Then there is using the Gift often enough, especailly where it comes to recognizing the voice of God when He speaks to you. And of course having the ( cough ) "balls" to say something.

I was at a Charsmatic meeting some years ago. A person stated they recieved a vision. At least 2 people stated that the vision ment this, that God was pleased with all they had done. When i heard the vision, i knew it ment just the opposite. God was frustrated with thier pride.
I have to admit, having 2 or 3 people saying the same thing can be intimidating. But i finally said what the Lord was pressing me to say. -- i was never asked to come back.
