I do not know this family, but a member to one of my other Christian Yahoo Groups do. And they are asking for a prayer request.
And if you know of any scriptures that we could share them, I'm sure it would be helpful. And thank you, for your prayers. *genesis
Please Pray For Little Haley Smith & Her Family?
On March 12, 2007 (Michele’s Birthday) we received the worst news a parent could ever hear. Our little girl, Haley Michele Smith had a brain tumor called glioma. The initial report that evening was very vague and we had to wait until the next day to determine what could be done for Haley.
On March 13 we took Haley to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital to determine what type of treatment Haley would undergo, confident their staff would guide us through the difficult road ahead.
Much to our surprise and shock, the news was not good. The Doctor who examined Haley informed us that there was no cure for the cancer she had developed.
She was diagnosed with Intrinsic Pontine Glioma.
Intrinsic Pontine Glioma is a tumor that grows from within the brain stem and there is nothing we, or any medical professional, can do to affect any positive outcome.
The chemotherapy and radiation treatments that typically prove so helpful in combating cancer would prove to only make Haley sick, reduce her quality of life and, ultimately, do nothing to help her situation.
For these reasons, Michele and I decided that it would be in Haley’s best interests to forego the treatment and accompanying discomfort. Like most parents, Michele and I have no interest in seeing our child suffer and decided it was now our job to see to it that we make every moment of Haley’s life as wonderful as we possibly can.
Haley’s fate is in the hands of God. Our family and Haley have been so blessed to have a tremendous amount of support and love during our time of need. I want to thank each and every friend, family member, associate, classmate, parent or distant acquaintance that has prayed for Haley, come to see Haley, bought gifts for Haley, and taken the time and effort to put our family first in your hearts.
I only hope that everyone that has reached out to her and our family knows that we truly appreciate all you have done and we thank you from the bottom of hearts.
July 4, 1998 God blessed Michele and I with the most precious little girl I had ever seen. I will never forget what the nurse said the moment she was born. Haley was lying on the birth table holding my pinky; the nurse looked at me as tears rolled off my face and said she already has you wrapped around her finger. That statement couldn’t be truer. I would do anything for my little girl and that is what makes this situation so hard. We are helpless. Haley has cancer and there isn’t a thing we, or anyone else, can do for her other than ask God to heal her.
For those of you that have been blessed to know my little girl you know how special she is. She has a personality like no other; she is a very loving and beautiful girl. Haley loves to sing, dance, and put on shows. She lights up the room when she comes in. If God does decide to take my little angel I am going to miss her smile and her little body snuggling next to me when we go to sleep, however, we aren’t giving up yet. Haley is strong and I know if this disease can be beat my little girl can beat it! It’s this belief, and your support, that give Michele and I the strength to forge ahead. Thank you all so very much and God Bless.
