Paul has cancer. A brain tumor. Originally, the doctor gave him six months to live. Paul has lasted over a year. The cancer has now spread, and Paul has a mass on his right lung, as well as the beginnings on his left lung. The doctor has now given him a month. I know that there is something sweeter than this life. I know that to be present with Him, is the greatest gift of all. I realize that He has a reason for allowing this, but it absolutely breaks my heart. I cannot imagine the stress, the strain it must create within this family. His wife Stacey, is strong and grounded in the Lord, but it must take a toll on your heart when you have to confront this every single day. Knowing that the one you love, will soon be gone. I have been praying for Paul's healing. Now, I honestly don't know what to pray for. I pray for Stacey and her children; that He grant them the strength to get through this.

Please, lift this family up. I have no more words...and tears just don't seem to work.

enlisting the family right now.

God bless you for this request beloved. May the Lord use you as a source of comfort to them.

Sis. in Christ,

Paul - Update

Please, thank you all who prayed for Paul and Stacey. This excerpt is from Stacey's journal on Caring Bridge dated this morning.

As a result of the prayers and encouraging words, and perhaps, the steroids, Paul had a great day on Friday. The day after my last journal entry. It had to be a result of each of you reading and praying. Paul and I actually went out for steak dinners, now, 3/4 of it was brought home, but he wanted to go out and quench his appetite, which was nil up until then. Then, he still had energy to watch our boys playing baseball. The difference in him was a miracle. Thank you, Thank the Lord.

Coughing has subdued some. Hycodan seems to be working. The nurse was over yesterday, and seems to think Paul may have some anxiety. He is getting restless legs as well, especially at night, which doesn't help his sleep.

The nurse plans to call the doctor today to prescribe something for the anxiety. Ativan. Number of pills keep climbing but Paul still is able to get them down. That is a blessing.

We know we are not alone. We give you thanks but most of all we give thanks unto the Lord.

Thank you. Paul is having his ups and downs. Days of mental confusion; no appetite, lack of sleep due to excessive coughing. He now has an over night nurse to look after him. Home care during the day. All your prayers are appreciated.

Hi everyone,

This is Stacey's brother reporting out on Paul's status:

Paul has changed considerabl
y in the last couple of days. He is currently in a comfortable state with his family at his side. Stacey and the family appreciate all the prayers and respecting their wishes of family-only at the house.

Please keep Stacey and her family in your prayers. Thank you so much.

Father, minister to those who have been left behind. Cover them with Your presence, wrap them in Your love. Strengthen them for the journey ahead.
