Please pray for my friend Sam

I have been witnessing and trying to help my friend, Sam for a long time. He is an alcoholic and recently he has been getting drunk to the point of blacking out.

I wrote him an email last night addressing his problem with alcohol and this was not easy as he and I are friends because our children have been friends for 12 years. All of our children are addicts. He lost one son Dec. 27, 2006. The other son went into a detox almost two years ago and has been living in a sober house and still is because he can't go home to a father that drinks.

My daughter who is a member here now has been clean and sober for almost 60 days because she rededicated her life to God. He thinks of her as his daughter and instead of being a part of celebrating her sobriety he is drinking all the time now....which started about 2 months ago.

Now, Sam is lost and I can't remember the last time I spoke to him when he was sober. Anyway, I wrote to Him about giving his life to God and claiming Jesus as His Savior.

He has received the email and thanked me but didn't say anything but thanks, but that is a good sign that he did say thanks. So please pray he will seek the Lord and ask for help for his drinking.

He is a God of miracles, He is in control even when everything in life seems so bleak.

Hey Katzie- I will pray for you in this situation and pray that you will be the light that your friend needs to see in you the chnages and hope and help that Lord can give him if he will just turn to Him. Stay strong and continue as much as you can to minister to your friend. Look to Lord to give you strength and the words to speak to your friend that he might open his eyes and hear you and take it to heart. I also have prayed for you and your mothers health as well as your daughter. Take care.
