At the moment, we are just being beset with various things that all seem to be coming together. I am certain our Lord will get us through them, but I'll take all the help and prayer I can get.

I am particularly concerned for my stepdaughter, who is falling into more and more irresponsible behavior (we don't have custody, so there's little I can do directly).

I am also very worried for my cousins, who flatly refuse to give up their very UnChristian ways. I fear they may be utterly lost, but they will hear nothing of God from me. Please ask the Lord to send them *someone* they will listen to before it's too late or to give me better insight into how to approach them.

We're also dealing with some recent financial matters that have gotten suddenly very ugly.

And last but not least, we all have some kind of galloping crud of a flu and it's making most of us quite miserable and unable to sleep (hense the 4am postings).

Thanks and God bless,
Janette

Dear Lord,

I life Janette and her family and extended family to you. You know each of them very well/you created them in their mother's womb - even the very hairs on their head you know and have numbered. Please provide for their needs and introduce yourself to those that don't know/get you. Let them know of your great love for them so much so that their hearts would melt in your arms. And her stepdaughter we lift up to you. Please surround her with Christians that really love you and have a heart to share your love with her.

I ask for healing for Janette and her household. That you would heal them. Thank you that you are the great healer. Please bless Janette's heart with assurances of all that she needs in You. You know best her greatest needs - please help her there Lord. Thank you Lord. Amen.

Trusting that the Lord is working right now in your life. Hope that you got some good rest.

Seeing God move

Well the "flu" is gone before anyone got bad enough to take to a doctor so that's wonderful and I thank God and the prayers of others here for it.

My financial situation is improving a little. I'm still reaping what I sowed back in my wild days (and marvelling at how irresponsible I used to be). God gave me someone to talk to who was able to help and I'm sure things will get better from there.

I'm just not having any luck with my cousins. I think God is leading me to move on and trust Him to send others to handle them...but it's really hard because I've tried so hard for the past ... decade ... to be there for them in the hopes they would get a clue. I *know* what they are doing can and will probably result in their going to Hell and it terrifies me for them. But it's just worn me down to deal with it.

They don't understand why I can't/won't go to their pagan events with them, they see it as "abandoning" what used to be my *cough* faith *cough*. But how can I say I worship the one true God and then stand in a ritual to worship demons that pretend to be gods?

I cannot eat from both tables and I know it.

Please pray for me, it hurts so much to let them go, but I don't know what else to do and they won't listen to me. I can be there if they want to talk, I can be there as a good samaritan for their secular situations, but I want no part of their rituals and nonesense about reincarnation or divination or whatever else.

*sigh* I wish I knew why people were so stubborn to resist God. I remember being "pantheist" (basically pagan) and thinking I knew better than all the Christians who tried to get me out from under that lie, but I wish I knew *exactly* what made me start listening to the truth so I could spread it around properly.

I wish I knew *exactly* what made me start listening to the truth so I could spread it around properly.

That made me smile...you know the answer as well as I do my sister...

Zec 4:6 Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:

Joh 12:32 "As for me, if I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to myself."

That cross is Christs rainbow of promise that he will draw all...keep praying...keep believing.

Be not afraid, the Lord will help you. If you give Him the time you need so very much to understand His mercy and power, He'll give to you the keys of understanding it takes to stand fast, intercess and witness truely, and when these things should happen. He'll show you the future if you like, according to His will, to ease your troubled heart from all anxieties when they occur. The situation of things can be alarming, thoughts can seem to overcome, but He neutralizes them all, given the time. Be not anxious, and know you are His, forevermore. He is for you, never against, ever. He walks no faster than the slowest lamb, and carries them as well. Holds them dearly. Amen.
Lord Jesus, show her a new light of understanding she's never experienced before. New depths of mercy and peace she needs so very much. Hold her still through it all. Let her hunger for it in You, and become satisfied continually. Bring healing to those around her. Wall her in with hope. Give her the power and understanding necessary to overcome any obstacles in her life, and the lives of those around her. Spread Your mercy and grace abundantly around her like a blanket of warmth and tender care. She's Your sweetness aroma, as You are hers. Discernment rises up in You, do it for her as well. Unfold revelations of understandings before her, revealing unfathomable riches in Christ forever. Lead her continually into Your Holy of Holies. Amen Lord Jesus come, amen and amen.

Jeanette, do you want to know why there are so many "backsliders" today? Why so many refuse the gift of Jesus Christ? It is simple. We have moved away from Scripture and have followed man-made ways of preaching the gospel.

The man-made gospel goes something like this: "You have a god-shaped hole in your heart; God has a wonderful plan for your life; come to Jesus and you will get peace, love, happiness, joy etc." Did you ever read about Jesus, Paul or the other apostles/disciples preaching the gospel like this?

No, they all used the law, wrath, hell to get the sinner to tremble before a Holy God. They first preached law, then repentence, then forgiveness of sins.

Charles Spurgeon said: "I do not believe that any man can preach the gospel who does not preach the law. The law is the needle, and you cannot draw the silken thread of the gospel through a man's heart unless you first send the needle of the law to make way for it."

The Bible says that the law was designed for sinners not the righteous (1 Tim 1:9,10). Therefore the law needs to be used to convince sinners of their transgression (James 2:9).

"Preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness." 1 Corinthians 1:18

Therefore we should try and abstain from preaching the cross until we have the need for the cross. They will not understand it unless they need it. They won't need it unless you show them that they need it. How can someone know what sin is if nobody tells them? How can someone turn from their sins if they don't know what sin is? Why would someone turn form their sin, if they have no reason to? We need to adjust our presentation of the gospel and start preaching it the way it was meant to be preached. The way Jesus did. The way Paul did.

Paul said: "I would not have known what sin was except through the law."

"The law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul." Psalm 19:7

"Therefore by deeds of the law there shall be no flesh justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin." Romans 3:20

"Now we know that whatsoever things the law says, it says to them who are under the law that every mouth may be stopped and all the world may become guilty before God." Romans 3:19

The 10 Commandments is a necessary part of the gospel that is often left out of our gospel presentations in this modern age. The law was designed to be used to make the sinner fear the Lord. For "it is through fear of the Lord that men depart from sin."

There is a site I would like you to visit and all the readers here, but unfortunately I am not able to post it yet. Am I allowed to PM or email it?
