Please pray for my country, Greece

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Jesus,

I would like to share a bit of what is going on as far as my country's economy is concerned, the situation is bleak and what we need IS PRAYER and sound decisions.

The people are being hit hard and the austere measures proposed are bound to create strikes and riots, the EU and IMF think that we are on the brink of accepting the measures ... and are wanting a prompt decision ... but I am afraid this is not so. There will be upheaval and unrest. Those that are being hit the hardest are the citizens and what my government is turning a blind eye to, is that salaries and pensions are already marginally low and making cuts there is not the answer. They spent foolishly and now want the people to pay, does history not repeat itself eh?
I do not know what the outcome will be BUT I pray for Wisdom that our President George Papandreou receives insight and acts accordingly.

Lord Jesus I come to You in prayer and ask you to take hold of this situation and our finances in general.

Prayer for grieving families

Lord Jesus I ask that you console the families of the 4 innocent people that died yesterday and that the rioting and demonstrations in Athens come to an end ... My Father may there be a peaceful resolution to this turmoil that Greece is in at this very moment.

I pray in Your Name our Jesus,

I am joining in prayer for our dear friends in Greece.
Sadly this is the future that many nations are going to face. May God's grace and peace be the center of all minds and hearts as all our nations come back to reality and learn to live within their means.

That is really a terrible and totally unjust thing happening in Greece. Our governments, all of them, waste money spending it foolishly and then want to take more when there is no more. This will be world wide. Greece is only the beginning, a nation in South America has taken pensions away from its holders, retirements I mean, for the cost of government. I can't remember the name of the nation.

Praying with you. Wisdom for your president, and wisdom for the church to find it underneath the shelter of God's wing, Psalms 91. More than that we know our hopes, treasure, and long lasting possessions are kept for us safe where thieves can't break in and steal, moth and rust can't destroy, kept safe for us in Christ. The old song "Build your hopes on this eternal" or "Hold to God's Unchanging Hand" is more relevant today than ever. That eternal perspective has cemented more in me when my grandparents died, over period of years, my brother and a few friends.
