A recent thread about sin caused me to see something a little differently today.
I try to view everyone the same, but I confess, I'm not always good at it.
It seems that sometimes some of who believe in Holiness are viewed as perfectionists, legalists, perhaps as "Holier than thou Pharisees".
Another group of people who are more grace oriented are viewed as licentious antimonianists who think they can sin all they want and God doesn't care.
Now while there are certainly some of these people around, I think the majority here on TalkJesus don't really fall into either camp.
The Holiness people, believe sin is an issue and we should try not to sin. But most of them would say they aren't perfect.
The grace people, believe God has mercy and forgives us thousands of times. But most of them would say they don't think they can sin all they want to.
In reality it seems we are closer on many things than we originally perceive to be. Neither side is really as extreme as we sometimes think they are.
So I apologize as coming across a bit legalistic to those who believe we don't have a free license to sin.
My threads are generally targeted to two different audiences.
Some subjects are just generic for everyone.
Other subjects are targeted to narrower audience, for example we really do have antimonianists and annihilationists here on TalkJesus.
Some threads are specifically speaking to those people not everyone.
I think I need to do a better job, in my opening posts of new threads of explaining the purpose of the thread, and where I am going.
I'm not entirely sure how to do this for ever situation, at least not yet. But I am trying to work on it.
