Yep, all together @Fragrant Grace. Its not really an American thing, they give me the same look here in the US.

I have always seemed to walk to the beat of a different drummer. :shade:

Peanut Butter and sweet pickles are nice (chutney...mild fruity pickles that is):smiley:
But I am not going to eat gherkins or dill pickles....no matter what you say!!!

I prefer Maires bread which is a little like Italian bread.

Put a good coating of peanut butter on both pieces of bread.

I use thin slices of bread and butter pickles which are a little sweetened.

The peanut butter keeps the bread dry till you eat the sandwich.

It is a hardy sandwich with out butter or meat and is lower in calories.
Peanut Butter and any pickle will do just fine for me. My mom got me started on them when I was a kid and now i still enjoy them and have grown into peppers or even onion if no pickle is at hand...
Peanut Butter on rice cake with some cheese is mighty fine as well.

Definitely an American thing I guess.

Here's a yummier recipe.....well I think so anyway:grin:

Cinnamon and Honey Peanut Butter Sandwiches
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste

  • Approx 4 tablespoons of raisins
  • 8 slices whole grain or granary bread

  1. Combine the peanut butter, honey, and cinnamon, mixing well
  2. Spread peanut butter spread over one side of one slice of bread.
  3. Sprinkle raisins evenly over peanut butter, and top with a slice of bread on top of the raisins to make a sandwich. .
Delicious lightly toasted too!

Peanut Butter on rice cake with some cheese is mighty fine as well.
Yes I agree that is rather tasty much more so than those pickles everyone keeps talking about :thumbsup:

Now this is a yummy recipe that my daughter made sometime ago:grin:

And I will repeat it is much much much nicer than peanut butter and ugh ugh pickles!!:eek:


Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup (260g) crunchy peanut butter
1 cup (200g) brown sugar
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup (185g) dark choc bits

Preheat oven to 200°C.
Lightly grease two baking trays and line with non-stick baking paper.
Combine peanut butter, sugar, bicarbonate of soda and egg in a bowl.
Stir in choc bits.
Roll teaspoonfuls of the mixture into balls and place on the prepared tray. Press lightly with a fork.
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until light golden.
Leave to cool on the trays then place into an airtight container.
