Did Paul work as a tentmaker for money? i want to get everyone elses thoughts than ill post mine :)

Act 18:3 So, because he was of the same trade, he stayed with them and worked; for by occupation they were tentmakers.

Paul did work as a tentmaker, and he never wanted to be a finacial burden to anyone, so I guess he was paid in either money or food.

2Th 3:7-10 For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for we were not disorderly among you; (8) nor did we eat anyone's bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, (9) not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us. (10) For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.

1 Cor 9:9 Muzzle Oxe

1 Tim 5:8 Muzzle Oxe

From What I see, Paul was pretty Well off money wise, for as much as his ministry would allow, without making tents. The scripture just says Paul went with them as they shared the same trade. Paul did work making tents to bring money in this case.

Thayer:
1) to work, labour, do work
2) to trade, to make gains by trading, “do business”
3) to do, work out
3a) exercise, perform, commit
3b) to cause to exist, produce

We are only told of this one instance though, that he went with a group to do this.... Nothing else was ever mentioned about making tents to support himself, or support his ministry.

Php 4:17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
Php 4:18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

Gal 6:6 Let him who receives instruction in the Word [of God] share all good things with his teacher [contributing to his support].
Paul was really big on Partnership.... God's Laws of Sowing and Reaping... You put God and the ministry first, You take care of the ones that bring you light, and the Word then.......

My God shall supply all your needs (Phil 4:19)

I seriously doubt Paul made tents for everyone where he went to preach or evangelize as that would also take carrying his tools and supplies... It is clear that he helped them work, and paid for his own upkeep, not asking for anything. If Paul used Tent making to support himself, it would have been mentioned again... Paul helped and worked in whatever Area was needed...

Jesus Is Lord.
