The following verses show believers need to overcome the world (the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eye, and pride of life) to become heirs of God.
Those who practice righteousness are righteous.
The righteous (those who practice righteousness) live by faith.
Those who fear God and practice righteousness are acceptable.
Those who do not practice righteousness are not of God.
Mortify (put to death) the deeds of the flesh that you may live.
The Lord your God will circumcise your heart,………that you may live.
Circumcision is of the heart, by the Spirit,……….not that outward circumcision of the flesh.
One God will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.
(By faith-instantaneous,…..through faith-progressive as heart is cleansed by the Spirit unto being justified/quickened.)
Those who practice unrighteousness (sins of the flesh) shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Those who overcome (the world-lusts of the flesh, lusts of the eye, pride of life) shall inherit all things and be My son.
Salvation is more than being forgiven of sins committed,………a believer is not saved until they are cleansed of unrighteousness.
A forgiven believer is freed of guilt and condemnation by being under the grace of God for their faith,
…….but they are not saved by quickened together WITH Christ until they are cleansed of unrighteousness.
God justifies the ungodly (forgives and cleanses as they continue to repent and confess their sins), but they are not justified (declared righteous) by being quickened with the Spirit of the Lord until they are cleansed of unrighteousness.
To be saved from the curse, and saved from condemnation, and saved from guilt, does not save a believer from sin, repent.
Salvation is not by what we do, it is the person we become as we put off sin and put on Christ as the Spirit works in us.
Repent or perish. Repentance may be work, but is not works.
And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand,
'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
"Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: (Matthew 25:33-34, 41).
Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!" (Revelation 11:15).
The Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17).
(We all need to work together as members of one family and body for this world to become the Kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, the church. The Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of righteousness. Those on the right <the righteous> are for Christ and the Kingdom of God; goats on the left are not for the Kingdom of God.)
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables (2 Timothy 4:3-4).
1) When we refer to various verses of Scripture, understand that the Paul was the Apostle to the Gentiles, who were without Christ. Elect Gentiles were WITH Christ by receiving the Spirit of adoption and were circumcised of the sins of the flesh to be justified/saved and risen as a member by being baptized with the Spirit INTO Christ Jesus.
2) Israelites had the Spirit of Christ in them as a descendant of Israel (Jacob) but were not justified/saved by being quickened together with the Spirit within until their heart was circumcised by putting off the sins of the flesh.
3) Children conceived of believers born of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, were anointed with the Holy Spirit of the Comforter at conception, but were not saved as a child of God until they were forgiven by faith and repentance.
There has been a transition over these past 2000 years, from being descendants of the first Adam to being born of the Spirit as descendants of the last Adam, Jesus Christ.
A transition from an earthly life in the flesh, to living in the Spirit as we are made in the image of God by Jesus Christ (Who is the image of God) being formed in us.
There are many in the world today, who were born with the Spirit of the Son in them, but are as "dead in Christ" until they believe and repent to be made alive in Christ.
The "dead in Christ" shall rise first,........then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
