I have heard alot about creationism recently. The kind that puts man and dinosaurs together. I do not believe in macro-evolution, but what evidence is there to support that dinosaurs were also created on the 6th day? I have heard a lot of evidence recently by ken ham's museum people. But there are a lot of assumptions that aren't really clear. So can anyone help me with the evidence placing dinosaurs and man together?

The Genesis account doesn't mention dinosaurs. Flying and swimming creatures were created on the fifth day. Land animals on the sixth.

There's no evidence of men and dinosaurs coexisting in the fossil record.

What kind of evidence are you looking for, and why?

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:8

Greetings,

I remember some years ago reading some of the books put out by the Ham people. I was a keen 'supporter' of the 'Ex-Nihilo Creation' magazines, as in, i enjoyed reading them and would recommend them to others, etc.
However, the books were a little more detailed [can not remember which ones they were] and i was reasonably upset because the tendency to say [state] things, in the flow of the evidence presentation, was often enough not an actual fact nor anything Biblical. I was somewhat saddened by that. I can't remember, but i think i wrote to them and asked/challenged them on some points they made.
The trouble was that if you did not accept the added bits, the whole thing had holes that did not make for a sound work.
BUT, they are not the only ones to have done that and many others do the same sort of thing, as we all probably know. Now, that being said, we all [who agree] MUST make sure we don't do likewise!

The reason i am writing this is NOT to bag them out but to say, in regards to the OP, that when we look at the things presented by anyone, we do need to keep in mind that it might be a fairly convincing argument, but look for the holes that appear to be bridges but are not.
There are a lot of creation suggestions out there, in print, on the radio, on TV, on the internet and talks, etc, some for 6 days, some for six extended days, some for six ages, some for millions of years pre the six days, some for two lots of creation, etc etc etc, BUT we must remember that most of it is speculation and nobody was there.

As fellow Member Hekuran @Hekuran pointed out.... :The Genesis account...."

Stick with that and one day, if the Lord so be pleased and have a purpose for doing so, He might reveal to you any extra.

Because the world sings dinosaur songs, does not mean a Believer has to get concerned. They sing all sorts of other songs, too.

Instead, look at those things that are just, honest, true, pure and lovely and of good report, those of virtue and praise,,,, and think of them.... and my best advice regarding that, is to look to Jesus, the Son of God and Captain and Shepherd of our souls.

And they that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee: for Thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee.
Psalm 9:10

Bless you ....><>

PLEASE NOTE : I repeat, i am not running the Ham creation ministries down nor any others like him. Since i had been reading those books, a few changes and divisions occurred, which may be evidence enough that you ought to not make doctrine on their teachings.

Well answers in genesis which is an organization headed by ken ham says that dinosaurs were created with man and uses the behemoth as a description for a saurapod. Then they discuss the fossil history and the geological layers. But a lot of their evidence lies on premises that first need to be accepted. What is your belief on the origins of this world?

I believe Genesis gives the most profound and rich answers to the ultimate questions such as - what is a human, how do we account for evil and does it express itself in the world, what is nature of God and goodness, what is the role of humans in creation, what was God's original plan for us?

It also asks questions about Gods purpose that are ultimately answered in Jesus Christ, his life, death, resurrection and anticipated return in glory.

I think the writers of Genesis were not in the slightest bit interested in the scientific questions that fascinate us now, and have very little to offer enquiry into the mechanisms and timing of creation.

It was this queation about creation and how the biblical account ties in with the historical account and how the churches that I visited couldn't satisfactorily answer my questions that once led me to looking into atheism.

I can understand how a lot of church people can go through life not caring that they do not know the truth of the origins of the world. But there are many out there who do care and if they feel as if the bible does not have the truth then they will look elsewhere.

I understand that genesis has profound answers but if someone rejects the authority of the bible because they do not believe that it matches up with the evidence that they can observe, then those answers will do nothing for them.

The Bible does not attempt to address modern scientific questions. It's like rejecting Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture because it fails to delineate the battle strategy that defeated Napoleon's armies.

I believe the bible does make scientific claims and that science backs up biblical claims.

Ok, I undrrstand. I've said what I've said, and it's certainly not a hill I'd be willing to die on. I hope you get the answers you're seeking.

I've found answers. I was just hoping to find someone on this forum who cared about something other than arguing about hell.
