Oprah W.??? Christian or not???

Oprah, does all these great deeds and then turns back around and says that, "Jesus is not the only way"

If you understood me you wont say this.

A person who is not saved can not say anything better, because they lack truth.
Our job is to find solutions....the problem is she's not saved.

We already acknowlegde what she said...theres no need to keep repeating the same thing over.

My challenge to all of you is.

What are you going to do ?

Why not send her letters of encouragement.

There is no need for you to shout...." caps", you might want to edit your post.

The war is not against humans, the devil will use people to distract us from the root of the problem.

You guys only see " Oprah " the woman who denied Christ... I say a person worth saving.

One thing to keep in mind, as a good example is the ever so famous C.S. Lewis, probably the most well known and well respected (and one of the wisest) Christian authors to live in the past century. Guess what? He used to be a truly devout "atheist" before his conversion. You can only imagine what such a bright mind said of GOD / Jesus when he was an atheist. Read his books (Christian related, not atheist authored books) and you'll see this man can prove, defend and speak of GOD in great light like no other author out there.

So the point is this, to quote from someone (sorry, forgot who said it)

"Do not look at the pearl in the mire, instead look at the mire in the pearl"

In other words, see the person for who GOD created them to be as, not what they are now [lost].

Amen, and amen

Well,

Chad, I love C.S. Lewis, I own many of his books. My kids and I read the Narnia books together. I have read "The Four Loves," and "The Screwtape Letters." They were awesome!

Rizen, Below in italics, bold and underlined, is your quote:

If you go back and look at my posts, you will see that we were not judging Oprah, I mentioned the flesh and blood verse. I know who is working in Oprah's life. It is not God.

So, yes, we need to pray for her salvation, that she will no longer be satan's pawn.

I think your challenge is a good one. I am up to it. But, here is the deal, I think we should do the same for everyone, every person that comes through our minds, our lives, and our pathways, but first, we should saturate them with prayer! Asking The Holy Spirit to soften their hearts, allow them to see the light of the glory of the gospel, and to save them!

We have talked about several things here in TalkJesus, and one thing that I would like to see, is fasting, accountability, encouragement (from individual to individual) and Lots, lots of prayer. In chat and in our lives. That we would take the burden of fervently praying for one TalkJesus member for an entire week and then move to the next person. We would always have someone praying for us, and we, they.

One thing that I have been praying for over two weeks now, is that God would send at least one person down my way, allow me to see them through His eyes, and give me the wisdom to share the gospel with. On a daily basis. I think He is honoring that.

Brother Barnabas and I agreed that this was a great thing........he expressed a desire to have prayer on his behalf, to this end. I have been praying and looking for him. So brother Barnabas, if you would look out for me when you are on-line, maybe we can discuss this some more?

If anyone can think of a great way to organize this, it would be awesome. I am terrible at planning!

On a side note, I have been praying for my natural brother, as I do for all my other 11 siblings I wanted salvation for them so desperately, and God answered my prayer.

He wrote me a letter from prison, where he is at this time, and is speaking new things now. He is quoting God's words now.
He gave me a poem, I am sure I have seen it before, it is not biblically sound, yet it is cute.

Thought I should share it.

Here it is:

"People are often unreasonable and self-centered, forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives, be kind anyways.

If you find happiness, people may be jealous, be happy anyways.

The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow, do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough, give your best anyway.

For you see, in the end, it is between you and God, It never was between you and them."

This is coming from my very angry, mean, and unreachable brother! God reached Him. I praise God for His immense patience, love, and goodness.

Amen

Thanks again for all who have looked and started realizing how easy it is to get caught up into the ways of the world. We are never to loose the compassionate heart! Our friend needs lots of help but I wish it would be more from the hearing the guidance of the Holy Spirit than man. She use to be very strong in her walk and now is definitely at a low point. So thanks again for all those who care.

Wow SingleMom
That was a lot in one breath. Oprah is gonna have to step aside and let the Lords true hidden stars shine through.

Thank you for your input.
With what originated this post I need to give an update so.............

My friend is starting to see the light through all the snares that she was wrapped up in.
I know that all your prayers out there are making a difference. So dont stop please.

I'll give the short form of her name Alex so to help keep privacy happening.
God wants her back and its starting.

I will continue praying...
Mainly that Christians will step up to the plate so there is no need to seek advice outside the church. The Lord God is our provider and will use who or what he chooses to help his children.

You see all of our help comes from the Lord...the moment we start looking at the package it comes in we become picky and cause others to miss it.

And that one package we dismissed, because it wasn't adorned with ribbons, had the gift inside.

I believe God's will would be done.
Her knows her name, the situation...we don't and all we can do is pray, and praise him because he knows best and sees the heart of men.

To God be the glory.

thank Risen1
I know Alex is in good hands and really appreciate your input.
Sometimes that freewill stuff can get frustrating.
Take care
