Amen, and amen
Well,
Chad, I love C.S. Lewis, I own many of his books. My kids and I read the Narnia books together. I have read "The Four Loves," and "The Screwtape Letters." They were awesome!
Rizen, Below in italics, bold and underlined, is your quote:
The war is not against humans, the devil will use people to distract us from the root of the problem.
You guys only see " Oprah " the woman who denied Christ... I say a person worth saving.
If you go back and look at my posts, you will see that we were not judging Oprah, I mentioned the flesh and blood verse. I know who is working in Oprah's life. It is not God.
So, yes, we need to pray for her salvation, that she will no longer be satan's pawn.
I think your challenge is a good one. I am up to it. But, here is the deal, I think we should do the same for everyone, every person that comes through our minds, our lives, and our pathways, but first, we should saturate them with prayer! Asking The Holy Spirit to soften their hearts, allow them to see the light of the glory of the gospel, and to save them!
We have talked about several things here in TalkJesus, and one thing that I would like to see, is fasting, accountability, encouragement (from individual to individual) and Lots, lots of prayer. In chat and in our lives. That we would take the burden of fervently praying for one TalkJesus member for an entire week and then move to the next person. We would always have someone praying for us, and we, they.
One thing that I have been praying for over two weeks now, is that God would send at least one person down my way, allow me to see them through His eyes, and give me the wisdom to share the gospel with. On a daily basis. I think He is honoring that.
Brother Barnabas and I agreed that this was a great thing........he expressed a desire to have prayer on his behalf, to this end. I have been praying and looking for him. So brother Barnabas, if you would look out for me when you are on-line, maybe we can discuss this some more?
If anyone can think of a great way to organize this, it would be awesome. I am terrible at planning!
On a side note, I have been praying for my natural brother, as I do for all my other 11 siblings I wanted salvation for them so desperately, and God answered my prayer.
He wrote me a letter from prison, where he is at this time, and is speaking new things now. He is quoting God's words now.
He gave me a poem, I am sure I have seen it before, it is not biblically sound, yet it is cute.
Thought I should share it.
Here it is:
"People are often unreasonable and self-centered, forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives, be kind anyways.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous, be happy anyways.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow, do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough, give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God, It never was between you and them."
This is coming from my very angry, mean, and unreachable brother! God reached Him. I praise God for His immense patience, love, and goodness.
Amen
