I don't know if this is the right place to post this.

Has anybody ever done online evangelism? What are the results that you gained from it?

The answer is positive.

Here at 'talkjesus'......and online... I have had the joy of pointing a person to Jesus........Resulting in that person accepting Jesus as Saviour......she now operates on this site as a Moderator.

Hallelujah

With others who visit and take pert here @'talkjesus' we endeaviour to help and encourage in the Christian way of life......following Jesus

We're evangelising at TJ right now!

Is this not what we are doing at this very time? Writing about and commenting on Christ Jesus and the Gospels is evangelizing, I'm happy to say.

Chad et al, have given us the wonderful privilege of evangelizing to thousands, simply by writing about and commenting on scripture. The real Glory of course goes to God's Holy Spirit, who with Jesus Christ and God the Father have given Chad a wonderful vehicle for evangelizing. Chad has in turn obeyed God and allows us to share this vehicle. So long as we don't abuse it, by braking the rules of TJ, we can evangelize and question and find out about God's purpose throughout all peoples of the world. Without leaving our living rooms.

I don't think that one can quantify the effect of online evangelism. Cyberchurches do maintain membership lists, but I don't think they have any way of tracking unnamed visitors. There's a certain cyberchurch I've bookmarked on my computer, but I've never registered there, nor do I plan to.

Christian websites like TalkJesus exist to introduce Jesus to true seekers and edify believers. We're not here to stock pews with attendees.

While TalkJesus and other Christian websites are good ways to evangelize, that wasn't the way my question was intended to go.

However, let's concentrate on this, because I feel it's important. Seems like the only places that Christians seem to evangelize is within the Christian organization itself. For instance, I've noticed that there's a lot more ministry going on inside the church than outside.

Why are evangelists, whether they are present online or in the concrete world only limiting themselves to the Christian circle? It seems to me that evangelists are sent out "two by two" into the world, to find and save the Lord throug Jesus Christ our Lord.

Christians are already saved. I realize that a part of the evangelists' duties have turned from what John the Baptist and Philip did to little more than encouraging the body of Christ. When you think about it..the biblical evangelists position wasn't one of encouraging, but one of drawing in people.

Encourageing isn't really evangelizing.

We can't honestly say that we are evangelizing when people come to us....we must go to the people. We've got to go out to the highways and byways. It's the evangelist that is sent out to lead the lost to Christ, people who are lost generally do not go out and find the Christian and say "Hey, I'm lost can yoiu help me?"

Everyone who speaks the name of the Lord as thier Saviour are evangilising, you may think of this as a Christian only forum but be assured that God brings like minded people together so others may see why this group of people meet
Non Christians come on these sites and will join in and question, the web is used for evil as well as good, and God uses all that is at His disposal to reach out, I understand what you say, but being a Christian on the web is only a small part of ministry. this is a place where we can also build one another up and prayer for one another and inspire one another Evagilism comes in may ways it is up to us to use each way given and not question.
Going out to others is lovely and if you do not do it I recommend it, there are so many ways of reaching others who are lost, We must go where God leads.
I pray that God will lead you into the area were He would have you evangilise. Blessings :groupwave:
