"This man (Jesus) offered one sacrifice for sins for ever" -
Hebrews 10 v 11

"One sacrifice for sins". Note the difference made there by one letter, the letter 's'. One sacrifice for sins, in the plural . That is to say "Jesus offered one sacrifice" for the sum total of the sins of all men. the world, whom Jesus came to save. No matter from what point of view you look at this word sins - if you take it up in that great three-fold cataloguing of sin which the bible teaches us:

Outward acts, + rebelliousness against God, + an inner state of the fallen nature

No matter from what angle you view this word sins, not one sin has been omitted, not one sin has been left out

He offered one sacrifice for sins - for every outward act of wrongdoing, for every upward act of rebellion and disobedience, and for every inner movement
thought and motion of our fallen human nature....He offered one sacrifice for sins for those He came to save. The completeness of His work. One
sacrifice for sins for ever. So that if this earth were to continue for a thousand times a thousand years, and you were to go on into the outward reaches of eternity, there will be still be only "one sacrifice for sins forever". Eternity itself will require nothing more than what the Son of God accomplished on
Calvary.

"One sacrifice for sins forever". This is what Jesus has done. What a claim! That sin has been finally and fully dealt with. What a claim!
And what a promise! That God looking at us through the spectrum of Calvary, looking at us His believing people. He holds out to us this promise and assurance

"As far as I am concerned your sins are dealt with".....Wow.... No matter how completely you discern yourself to be a sinner in need of forgiveness: "one sacrifice for sins for ever", so that to you.... God himself is offering an eternity, on the basis of the finished work of Jesus. What a claim!
What a promise!

"Every Priest goes to work at the altar each day, offers the same old sacrifices, year in year out, and never makes a dent in the problem of sin.
As a priest Christ made a single sacrifice for sins, and that was it! Then he sat down right alongside God and waited for his enemies to cave in.
It was a perfect sacrifice by a perfect person to perfect some very imperfect people. ....................................................
...............
So friends we can now without hesitation walk right up to God, into the "Holy Place" Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The 'curtain' into Gods presence is his body............Heb 10:.....

Oh Hallelujah, great post Stephen, and the evidence of this Truth is that we can be in God's presence and not die. Christ, by His sacrifice on Calvary has made us all blameless priests before God.:groupwave:
