We read about the death and resurrection in the Gospels and we're told that Jesus died and then, to the Disciples' amazement, He reappeared but nothing about how that happened until Acts 2:24-28. Peter tells us that God was involved in that process, God who days earlier had turned His back on and left His son to die and go to Hedes, now heals and resurrects Him. It was a joint effort.

Then if you read Romans 8:11, just as He did for Jesus, God will use His Spirit that's within you, to do that for you. So beware, no Spirit, no resurrection. Paul then goes on to explain the importance of living a Spirit filled life in the power of the Holy Spirit, overcoming our 'fleshly lusts' you will be putting the sin within your body to death, and that promised resurrection process has already begun.

So then, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation, but not to our flesh [our human nature, our worldliness, our sinful capacity], to live according to the [impulses of the] flesh [our nature without the Holy Spirit]— for if you are living according to the [impulses of the] flesh, you are going to die. But if [you are living] by the [power of the Holy] Spirit you are habitually putting to death the sinful deeds of the body, you will [really] live forever. Romans 8:12-13 AMPLIFIED

========================

Dear Lord God, I pray that your Spirit within me will continue to fight with and overcome my weaknesses; pride, envy, lust and anger, they have no place within me but yet they are there. Please, please God, help me and give me the power to overcome them and put them to death so that I can focus on your pleasure with love, praise, prayer, obedience and servitude. Amen.

I think a goodly number of our brothers and sisters think that the unsaved are also going to live forever, but in the lake of fire.

The lake of fire is the second death from which there is no resurrection.-Rev. 20:14 But the second death has no power over those that the are in the first resurrection for they will be priests of God and of Christ and reign with him for 1000 years.-Rev. 20:6 These appear to be the 144,000 found in Rev. 14 and Rev. 7. According to Rev. 20:14 death, hell, the devil, the false prophet, the beast, and anyone not found written in the book of life will also be thrown into the lake of which means they will no longer exist since it is the second death. So we have to assume that death and hell will also no longer exist since it is the second death.
