Do you feel that this is a requirement for salvation? If so do think there are more requirements?

That is not a requirement for salvation as Christ fulfilled the Law for us, but it is fruit (evidence) that we are abiding in Him.

True my friend, but the Spirit leads us in all truth and righteousness to the perfect will of God. If we follow the Holy Spirit He will lead us in a walk that (though we are not following the Law) fulfills it perfectly. he leads us in Love for God is Love.

Hello God bless everyone. Boan i do agree with you if we walk in the Spirit we will fullfil or keep His Commandments(Law).
Let me ask you a question Jiggyfly, if I may, If someone brought you a ticket to go to,lets say go to Canada, and your from the U.S can you just go to Canada without any requirements? Or would you need to get a passport and so on?

The ticket is paid, that is what Christ did paid for our sins, but you still have to abide by the Government
orcCountry laws in order to get in to Canada, that is staying faithful in Christ and not breaking God,s Law 1John3:4 (sin). Now lets say just because you got a free ticket to Canada you say its paid I don,t need ti do anyrt

Sorry for that. But lets say you get a free ticket to Canada and you say its paid for I dont need to do anything but just go there do you think just because its paid for, the ticket, that they,ll just let you right in? Sorry if the analogy is misleading you. My question is why do you think we do not need to keep from sinning or breaking Gods law 1John3:4/Rom.7:7?

Can you give some scripture that you believe supports your belief?

Heh, Jiggy ! Walking in the Spirit leads us to always fulfill His will and heart. The individual specific destination is up to God but we do know this: God is Love and the fruit of the Spirit amounts to His nature (Love) expressed in and through us.

Well my brother, that is not exactly what i said. It is He who leads, empowers and causes us to do His will- we do not follow Law but God. His nature revealed in and through us does no wrong. The difference may appear subtle but in reality walking gin the Spirit is Christianity expressed, living by rules instead of the leading of God is man's attempt to justify his flesh (Pharaseeism or a a filthy rag).

Excellent Boanerges, I like the way you worded that. Sometimes we want to confine God's work to this way or that way yet the scriptures declare that He has made both vessels of honor and vessels of dishonor, and both serve His purpose.

Hello mates? Hahaha. So you both are saying keeping God,s commandments are Pharraseeism or works? If you say yes youre wrong. Jesus our example 1peter2:21 kept the commandments. Was He a pharasee?

My friend, Jesus was the only man who ever kept (or could ever keep) the Law in it's entirety of heart and purpose and in doing so fulfilled the Law for us.

The title of this thread - "Obey God's Law!" - is misleading. At first glance it portrays God as a vindictive deity screaming at His miscreant kids, a god who demands to be appeased. The God of the Bible, while He is just and all-powerful, is also loving and compassionate. We can't save ourselves by our actions; He came to earth and made a way for us to get saved.
